Swim in Pink: Join the Ballybunion Dippers for a Charity Swim to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the vibrant coastal community of Ballybunion is proud to host *Swim in Pink*, a charity swim event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support services. On 13th October, participants from across the region will gather on Ballybunion Beach to dive into the waves while donning pink to show their solidarity with the thousands of women and families affected by breast cancer in Ireland.
This powerful event will not only raise critical funds but will also serve as a symbol of hope, courage, and community unity. Everyone is welcome to join, whether you are an experienced swimmer or simply wish to support this important cause from the shore.

Time: 12:30 PM (Registration begins at 10:30 AM at the Sea Rescue Building)
Location: Ladies Beach, Ballybunion Beach, Co. Kerry

Dress Code: Wear Pink! Swimmers and supporters are encouraged to wear as much pink as possible to create a wave of pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
Why Swim in Pink?
Every year, breast cancer touches the lives of thousands of families across Ireland. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Ireland, with approximately 3,700 women diagnosed each year. Over the past decade, this translates to over 37,000 new cases. It accounts for 31% of all cancer diagnoses in Irish women, and about 1 in 9 women in Ireland will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast Cancer also impacts around 30 to 40 men in Ireland. are diagnosed with breast cancer in Ireland each year.

All proceeds will go directly to National Breast Cancer Research Institute, a leading charity in breast cancer research and support services in Ireland.
Registration online has a P&P charge for the Pink Swim cap
In person registrations will be open from 10.30am at the Sea Rescue Building with a free Pink Swim cap. Donations can also be made in person with cash at the event.
Post-Swim Celebration:
Bring your dry robe or cosiest clothes and relish in your dip with the other participants and supporters, enjoy a DJ, hot drinks, treats, and entertainment at a post-swim celebration hosted by Ballybunion Dippers. It's a great opportunity to come together, share stories, and celebrate the strength and resilience of those who have been affected by breast cancer.
