It is with great sadness that we bring the news of the passing of Wattie Blake. Wattie died peacefully this morning at the age of 85.

A much loved character of the village, Wattie lived at the family farm, Caldronbrae.

Special guests now confirmed as David Kilpatrick, traditional/celtic guitarist and leading member of the Kelso Folk Club

and

Steve Tees (highly accomplished viola player) who has enjoyed a varied career that’s included orchestral work, chamber ensembles and commercial recordings as well as traditional folk and jazz circuits

The final countdown is officially ON for the Stichill Village Make, Bake & Grow Show! In exactly 14 days, our brand-new exhibition marquee and village hall will be bursting with the absolute best local talent in the Scottish Borders!

Whether you are finishing up your miles of handmade bunting, putting the final touches on your legendary village scarecrow, or perfecting that prize-winning show vegetable, it is time to bring your absolute A-game!

🌟 WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO:

* Special Guest: Calum Clunie from BBC’s Beechgrove Garden will be officially opening the show and acting as our guest judge!
* The Big Competitions: Showstopping home baking, giant veg, beautiful floral displays, and incredible local crafts.
* The Scarecrow Trail: Spot the brilliant, imaginative creations all over the village.
* Market Marquee: Packed with amazing local artisan food and craft vendors.
* Puppy-Friendly Fun: Bring your four-legged best friends along for a freshly made Puppuccino at our Vintage Café!

* Time: Doors open at 1:30 PM (Exhibit drop-off from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

Join us for our first film for the autumn on Tuesday 8th September

Doors open at 7.00 pm, film starts at 7.30 pm.
Tea/Coffee/Biscuits will be available 7.00 – 7.30 pm. BYOB and nibbles to keep you going during the film.
