We believe that music-making should be open to everyone, no matter what level of ability. The Truly Terrible Orchestra is a group of 'lapsed' amateur musicians based around the Inverness/ Moray Firth area, who enjoyed playing music earlier in life (usually at school) and have decided to dust off their instruments and get playing again. As the name suggests, our attitude to music-making is very relaxed and always about having fun! The Orchestra was founded in 2006 by Anni Cole-Hamilton and our musical director Jo Hazell conducts the group with great skill, humour and patience! Sadly for the general public, the TTO performs several times a year! We hold an annual Charity Christmas concert every December and in August 2011 we were thrilled to be invited to play at the internationally-acclaimed Tartan Heart Festival at Belladrum, near Beauly! Our other accollades include being awarded the Laoureux Challenge Trophy at the Inverness Music Festival in 2010 - a truly terrible triumph! The TTO rehearses on Tuesday evenings in the Culduthel Christian Centre, Inverness. Members are from Inverness, Moray, Nairn, Ross-shire and surrounding areas. We play a wide variety of music from Beethoven to โThe Good, The Bad and The Uglyโ (which accurately describes our playing..!!)
