And finally, the people behind the scenes.

Events like this are only possible because of the hard work, time and dedication of the volunteers at Strathpeffer Pavilion Strathpeffer Pavilion Community Trust.
They’re the people who help make these nights happen and keep this wonderful venue going.

So it felt only right to finish with the people who make it all possible.

And, as the photographer, I get to conveniently avoid being in the group photo by staying behind the camera. 😂

Before the doors open....

There's a moment before every gig when everything is still.

The stage is waiting, The equipment is in place.
The venue is slowly transforming from an empty space into somewhere that, in that a few hours, will be full of music, people and energy.

Dahlias, but perhaps not quite as you’d normally see them. 🌸
I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to photograph these beautiful dahlias, and I decided to approach them a little differently.
Rather than concentrating purely on their incredible colours, I wanted to explore the shapes, textures, patterns and smaller details within each flower.
I also played around with the composition, getting in close, cropping into the blooms and looking at them in ways I might not normally photograph a flower.
And, of course, I had to see what happened when I took the colour away completely.
These are the dahlias as I saw them. 🖤📷🤍

A first practice image from a new double-exposure series I’m exploring around natural beauty, self-image and the pressure we can feel to hide behind filters, makeup and perfection.
The natural portrait was taken first, followed by the hands covering the face — creating a layer of protection over what is already there.
Just an experiment for now, but one I’m really interested in exploring further.

Side note: I’d eventually love to find a few willing volunteers who would be happy to be part of this little project. 💛📸
