How exciting - good luck for a local and independent shop opening in the town centre - this is what our city centre needs instead of being full of tourist tat shops.

Please support this business and hopefully more people will share their drive and ambition and realise their own ambitions and open their own, independent shop too

Angus MacLeod has taken the leap to turn his passion into a full-time business, and it won’t be long until Cocoa Bothy opens its doors in the Town Steeple on Bridge Street. We’re looking forward to seeing his delicious Belgian chocolate creations available from a permanent home and wish him every success with this next chapter.

I visited the Alchemist Gallery, Scotland in Dingwall for the first time yesterday and - wow - it is the most beautiful gallery and gift shop with the most amazing stock. If you haven’t visited yet you are missing out. Highly recommend.

I might just have to purchase one of their funky lampshades for the soon to be open 3rd lodge, Affric at Wellhouse Country Lodges

They have also kindly agreed to sell my popular hand knitted wee brooches if anyone is interested in buying some.

I also stock my wee brooches in Make it Special, the fabulous wee shop beside the lifts and stairs to the crown exit in Eastgate Shopping Centre

Will also be stocking them soon at Drum Farm Gallery, Gift Shop and Wee crafty Birdie in Nairn.

Happy Saturday from The Brae 💙
If you’re out and about in Nairn this weekend, don’t forget to wander a little off the main route and explore our lovely wee town properly.
The Brae is packed with independent shops, cosy cafés and places to stop for a glass of wine and a bite to eat. Run by folk who genuinely care about what they do.
From handmade gifts and creative finds to coffee stops, sweet treats and hidden gems… there’s so much to discover when you shop local.
Every purchase, whether it be a card, a coffee, or even a browse and recommendation really does make a difference to small businesses like ours.
So take your time, explore the independents and enjoy everything Nairn has to offer this weekend 💙

Whilst we re missing all our lovely customers and also seeing all the talented local artists and makers , we are enjoying a more balanced life style - although it is still a bit hectic just now as Wellhouse Country Lodges have been soooo busy.

We had the joy of looking after Baby Jamie (my great nephew) for a couple of days - loved every second. Something we couldnt have done if we still had the shop.

GOOD NEWS - We still have some bargain original paintings I am going to post on here over the next few days - I know a few people were very interested in them but the price put them off - so. WATCH THIS SPACE.
