⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST DIRECTOR ⭐️ in the Wharfedale Awards, for Curtain Up’s WHITE CHRISTMAS: Ian Wilson is excited just to be considered “up there” with the other nominees! Reviews said:
- Tight direction with creative immersive touches … was down to Ian Wilson who was surprisingly making his directional debut.
- … he clearly brought out the best in his cast for this production.
- Long may this partnership continue to thrive

Ian also loves performing: He got his start with Diva Productions , has been in three LAOS productions including Les Mis, Huddersfield Musical Theatre and three Buttershaw St Paul's AODS shows. Ian got the bug to direct from watching their directors particularly Andrew Ashley Louise Denison and most especially the lovely late Michael Hellawell.

Next for Ian will be the Edinburgh Fringe then producing A Taste of Burlesque’s Halloween special in Bingley before performing as Claude in Halifax Light Opera COME FROM AWAY in November. June 2027 sees him partnering again with Rob Durkin Robert Durkin and Gillian Ellis Ellis to direct Bingley Little Theatre GYPSY Bingley Arts Centre (Casting calls very soon - follow BLT!) and then… TBA!!❣️

⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST CHOREOGRPAHER ⭐️ in the Wharfedale Awards for Curtain Up’s WHITE CHRISTMAS Gillian Ellis has been teaching and examining dance her whole life - but this was her first full musical choreography. Combining stunning tap, fabulous fosse and skillful moves Gillian gave the show dynamism and style.

A longstanding member of the LAOS The Musical Theatre Company (Leeds) team, Gillian has just completed a stint supporting Buttershaw St Paul's AODS with Joseph and will next be seen choreographing the iconic GYPSY for Bingley Little Theatre

STACEY GILYARD took charge of wardrobe curating, making and adapting an exceptional costume plot which made our show a visual feast; alongside delivering an exceptional performance as Judy Haynes.
Stacey’ costume expertise has elevated numerous shows across West Yorkshire, most recently her highly acclaimed costuming of Joseph. Next up for Stacey will be costuming Frozen for Huddersfield Musical Theatre and will be performing in West Side Story for BCP as well as staring in our very own TASTE OF BURLESQUE Halloween Special at Bingley in October. Stacey’s bespoke clothing design service is Stacey Gilyard

DAVID COLLINS took the stage concept and turned it into a beautiful set which literally lit up the stage giving depth, dimension and realism - as well as a stylistic setting for the onstage orchestra - which the critics described as “PICTURE PERFECT”. And, oohhhhh, the TREE! 🎄🎄

ANGELA MOOR put together a superb set of props and furniture supported by the brilliant SAM HARLAND, creating a beautiful period look and feel. Ange will be back with us for our EDINBURGH FRINGE show in August

⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR ⭐️ in the Wharfedale Awards for Curtain Up Productions’ WHITE CHRISTMAS - ALEX HUNTER was making his stage debut with us, bringing both the fast-talking Ralph Sheldrake to life and an iconic turn as the sleazy Jimmy at the Back Room Club.

A trained classical singer he was part of the offstage choir for Leeds’ amateur premiere of Les Mis, and more recently was wowing audiences with his vocals and dance moves in Buttershaw St Paul's AODS Joseph.

⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS ⭐️ in the Wharfedale Awards for Curtain Up Productions’ WHITE CHRISTMAS - EMMA SHORTALL lit up our stage as the sassy, stormy (and sultry!) Martha, proving that if you let her sing she’ll make an audience happy!

Emma is a well known figure on our Yorkshire stages as well as regularly directing with LIDOS (she has just completed “We Will Rock You”) or working behind the scenes including with LAOS The Musical Theatre Company (Leeds) .

⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR⭐️ in the Wharfedale Awards for Curtain Up Productions’ WHITE CHRISTMAS -
PHIL JOWETT scored a hit with audiences and cast as our lovable General Waverley.

Phil has played many roles over the years, including Harold Wilson! He also directed Buttershaw St Paul's AODSJoseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

What’s next for Phil? He’s reprising his Harold Wilson for Patrick Productions “Made in Dagenham”.

⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST ACTRESS ⭐️ in the Wharfedale Awards for Curtain Up Productions’ WHITE CHRISTMAS - HELEN GALLAGHER’s powerful performance of the bitter-sweet love song was a highlight of our show, as Betty Haynes fell in / out / in love with Bob.

Helen most recently played Bingley in I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change.

She will next be seen playing Anita in West Side Story for Bradford Catholic Players

⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS ⭐️ in the Wharfedale Awards for Curtain Up Productions’ WHITE CHRISTMAS - the fabulous ELIZA HUNTER wowed our Kings Hall audiences as the sharp witted kid with no filter!🤣
Eliza was in LAOS uk amateur premiere of Les Mis and has just played in Joseph with , alongside (glowing with pride) dad Graeme (also in our cast making his stage debut). We could not be more proud of Eliza!!😊

⭐️NOMINATED FOR BEST ACTOR⭐️ in the Wharfedale Festival of Theatre Awards for Curtain Up Productions’ White Christmas, Jack Bailey wowed audiences with his fabulous tapping skills as our Phil Davis.

Jack is a graduate of Bradford School of Art and no stranger to the stage having 18 years of performing experience. Recent credits include Guys & Dolls, Oklahoma! and Joseph with Buttershaw St Paul's AODS .

You can next catch Jack playing Bernardo in BCP production of West Side Story in November.

Kristian Alexander Cleworth delighted Kings Hall audiences as our romantically confused Bob Wallace❄️

Kristian usually gravitates towards darker, more dramatic roles, his previous credits include West Side Story, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sweeney Todd, and Les Misérables. These days, though, he's enjoying his favourite role yet: being a dad!✨
