Comedian, actor and author Katy Brand recently added playwright to her list of credentials with her debut play 3Women, starring Anita Dobson, Debbi Chazen and Maisie Richardson-Sellers at the Trafalgar Studios. Our editor Kate Stone caught up with Katy to talk about playwriting, all-female projects....

URGENT CASTING CALL!

We are looking for an actor to play the role of WAITER in our October performance of 3 Women by Katy Brand.

This is a smaller part in terms of lines but the waiter is integral to the plot- and does have a rather saucy scene!

The waiter is described in the text as ‘an androgynous male’ and is ideally playing age of around 18-21 years. We would love to hear from actors of any gender and are flexible with casting.

The show will take place on Sunday 25th October on the main stage at The Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe. Rehearsals are on Sundays and some Tuesday/Wednesday evenings.

Ready to step into the world of Shakespeare? Our autumn production from 11-13 November will be Magik & Mischief, and we’re looking for performers to join us!

🗓 Auditions will take place on Monday 24 and Thursday 27 August at 19:30 in St Peter's Church, Ilfracombe.

You can bring your own monologue or duologue, choose to read something on the night or prepare one or more of our suggested audition pieces. These include:

✨ Jaques – As You Like It (“All the world’s a stage…”)
✨ Prospero – The Tempest
✨ Maria/Malvolio – Twelfth Night
✨ Lady Macbeth or Hecate – Macbeth
✨ Puck – A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Whether you’re a Shakespeare pro or someone who hasn’t picked up a script since school, come and give it a go. We’d love to see you there! 🎭
