We were pleased to host the launch of Beauty Fall by Sabrina Tirvengadum on 29 April 2026 at SPACE Ilford.

The exhibition transforms the gallery into ‚a satirical beauty salon’, featuring AI-generated beauty ads, a face-morphing mirror and installations exposing colonial influences on algorithmic beauty standards.

Through photography, AI, installation and archival material, Beauty Fall examines how idealised beauty standards shape identity, self-perception and our connection to ancestry.

The exhibition continues until 10 October 2026.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Introducing Beauty Fall, a new solo exhibition by deaf British Mauritian artist Sabrina Tirvengadum , opening at SPACE Ilford on 29 April 2026

Transforming the gallery into a satirical beauty salon, Beauty Fall examines how beauty standards shaped by colonial histories, Western industry, and social media continue to influence how we see ourselves and others. Through photography, sculpture, AI-generated imagery and immersive installation, the exhibition reveals the hidden messages behind beauty culture and invites visitors to reflect on identity, ancestry and self-image.

Drawing from archival family photographs and 3D-printed masks of her grandparents, Sabrina explores themes of memory, erasure and representation across generations. Her practice spans photography, collage, AI and digital media, with a focus on identity and ancestral history.

Join us for the exhibition launch on Wednesday 29 April, 4–7:30pm

Free and all welcome, with refreshments served

Join us next Saturday for a free evening of live gaming and live music performances in the gallery 🎮🎷

Imagine taking a gaming session out of a dim-lit bedroom and into the middle of an art exhibition with an added live soundtrack produced by an instrument made out of PC liquid cooling tubes.

For Hiddenware, artist Robert Cervera has been working with local gamers and musicians to create audiovisual performances where the music reacts in real time to what’s happening on screen.

Drop in for the whole session or join us at any point, or follow it live on Twitch and YouTube (HIDDENWARElive).

You can expect complimentary refreshments and the chance to mingle with fellow gamers, tech enthusiasts, and the artists and musicians themselves before and after the performances.

⏰ Schedule:
4 - 4.30: Refreshments served
4.30 - 6.30: Live gaming and music performance *
6.30 - 7: Performance continues with a chance for further networking and mingling before the event ends.

*Please note that this is an informal, gaming social event so there will be ample opportunity to network and mingle during the gaming and music performance.
