I chose to start working with Lifeplus Fitness because of Gavin's straight-forward approach to health and fitness. It wasn't a hard sell and felt like my fitness goal was valued. I appreciate there was no talk of fitness plans and my exercise knowledge level was minimal, so I appreciated the understanding approach when talking to me about personal training.

I liked the flexibility. I can train when I want and need. The trainers are brilliant. Sim has pushed me hard and I have seen some great progress when I look at where I started, to where I am now. They are great people first and equally great at personal training.

I have dropped three inches off my waist and two inches off my hips. My legs and arms have changed so much and I am able to fit into a smaller dress size than this time last year which is a major achievement for me.
I used to be very self conscious about my legs but now I would have no problem with wearing shorts as my legs have gotten so toned.

The Lifeplus Fitness team has had such a great impact on my life. Prior to personal training with Gavin and Sim, I was no fitness expert, I struggled with motivation and felt uncomfortable almost every day.

Since starting with Lifeplus Fitness, I have developed my understanding of training, have toned my arms and legs, dropped inches off my body, I have achieved small health goals and feel confident in training independently.

I am excited about the rest of my health and fitness journey. Thanks to Lifeplus Fitness I definitely have the tools and strategies in place to lose weight, gain strength and succeed in achieving more of my goals.

The priority for you may be to rectify some lifestyle related health issues such as high blood pressure or aches and pains especially in the lower back and knees.

Doing the exact same action won’t work but, the method might.

I usually weigh between 76.1kg-76.6kg. In 2 weeks from 2nd of January, my weight has gone down by 3.4kg and my body fat % has also come down by 1.5%.

A successful weight loss journey is the result of burning more calories than are being consumed aka calorie deficit. I looked at where I can reduce calories consumed sufficiently in an easy and sustainable way. The result is 8 rules aimed reducing the opportunities I have to consume excess calories and, a manageable routine of eating food and drinking water.

A rule is based on a decision or action in a single moment or day. A rule has a small effect and the more rules implemented the bigger the overall effect . There’s no calorie counting but I know how many calories my body burns with my average activity level and how many calories I’m consuming.

1️⃣2L of water per day
It’s very Important to stay hydrated and nail this one. Sticking to this was based more or routine and putting things in place to trigger the action of drinking water.

2️⃣ 3 meals per day day
1 meal = 1 course

You may not be familiar with exercise at all so don’t know what to do or where to even start. Even if you’re not new to the gym but lacking in confidence, you may not know what equipment to use, which exercises to do or how to perform them safely.

As well as not being confident that your efforts are going to get you the results you want, there is also a real risk that you could injure yourself.

If you suffer from social anxiety and ‘gym-timidation’ this could be the main reason why you are not in the gym already and activities such as team sport or group exercise do not appeal to you.

We help you as an individual, gain confidence in navigating the gym environment and with doing physical exercise.

We will guide you through what to do and how to do it. You will have the confidence in knowing that what you are doing is getting you closer to your gaol and doing so safely.

Also, if the gym really isn’t for you then, that’s okay. Heath fitness and exercise still exists outside of the gym.

You may have noticed we’ve made a few changes to our branding and artwork recently. This year will be our 5th year in business and over that time we’ve evolved and developed what we do.

For years we’ve exclusively delivered personal training and coaching, making us the only fitness company dedicated entirely to 1:1 PT in Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties. Finally now our marketing materials, online presence and even our new logo reflects this too.

🍾Happy new year!🎉

I wrote a blog post at this time last year with an ‘alternative’ perspective on January and ‘new year’ in general. (If you can find it then have a read because it’s still relevant). As you would expect, social media is again flooded with adverts from every area of health and fitness hoping to capitalise on the assumption that most have indulged a little bit more than usual over the festive period and with the end of the year being a time when we are encouraged to reflect and look forward to the fresh new year ahead.

If you have been waiting for this moment to make your move and then make it with confidence knowing that our team is here quietly waiting to help support you in whichever way you need us to beyond just the first month of 2023. This is just a reminder, if you have your health and you are happy then you don’t need to change so don’t let social media or the fitness industry convince you otherwise.
