Watch our fabulous Choir as SOS share their story with BBC Breakfast.

It was an amazing privilege for The Sound of Sirens - Services Choir to be visited by the lovely Jayne McCubbin and the camera crew from the BBC as we rehearsed for a performance at All Saints Church in Huntingdon.

The Sirens shared a little of their experiences as service personnel, and how singing and being part of a choir focused on wellbeing helps them to de-stress, unwind and rebalance.

We particularly enjoyed showcasing the song You Can’t Stop The Beat from the musical Hairspray, you can’t help but smile as you sing this joyous song channeling your inner Rebel Wilson!

“That’s a wrap!”…this week SOS had the BBC visit our rehearsal, kindly hosted by All Saints Church in Huntingdon, to film for their Rise and Shine feature.
The Sirens sang and chatted with Jayne the presenter as the camera operators stealthily moved amongst us capturing the essence of our choir. We all had great fun and hopefully the end results will be a showcase of what the choir means to its members and the community.

The Sound of Sirens Services choir is still welcoming new members.

We have an exciting year of performances and events ahead and we are keen to have as many Sirens as possible available to perform.

We are open to all serving, former and retired service personnel from all uniformed services, and we also welcome immediate family. If you are not sure if you qualify please drop us a message.

We sing primarily SABT (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) arrangements so there’s a place for every voice.

We are currently mostly women but we would love to expand the male representation in the choir, particularly in the tenor and base sections.

If you are not sure which section would suit your voice, that’s fine, you can try different sections during your two free taster sessions, or ask advice from our musical director The Tenor - Joshua Daniel.

The Sirens have completed their roving rehearsal season. We’ve been hosted by Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Cambs Police HQ and Huntingdon Fire and Rescue. We’ve raised our profile within local services and picked up some new Sirens along the way!!
2026 is shaping up to be our best year yet!!

Happy New Year from all at The Sound of Sirens Choir!!
We had an amazing 2025 forming new community connections and performing at several local events. We look forward to 2026 and all the new songs, and new challenges it will bring.

The best news is we are recruiting now!!
Our choir is open to any current or former public services personnel, including volunteers and civilian / support staff (and immediate family) from any services including NHS, Police, Fire, Military, etc.

No auditions
No experience necessary
All abilities and experience welcome

SOS is led by our professional musical director Joshua Daniel, we were founded in 2022 with wellbeing in mind and that remains at the heart of our choir. Whether you just love singing with others, need a new challenge, or would relish some weekly escapism this is the choir for you!

We meet for rehearsals each week to share music (and often cake!) in our normal rehearsal space between 5:30 - 7:30pm Newtown Centre, Nursery Road, Huntingdon, PE293RJ.
