Just to let local peeps know: there will be no Sunday night live music at the Wine Bank for the next few weeks.
Taking a winter break, and looking at some new ideas. Will keep everyone posted.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday, Jan 7th: Coolhands.

This will be our first gig in months, all three of us having been laid off with physical injury: Liam broke a finger whilst fiddling on a roof, James went stone deaf listening to him moan about it, and I dislocated my jaw from yawning.

But we’re now out of our various hospices, fully recovered, and ready to reconvene. See you Sunday.

We would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas

If you're only allowed out on one Sunday night per year, make it this one.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday. Dec 3rd: Jake Fletcher.

We’ve seen Jake’s younger sister Poppy a couple of times here at the Home Of The Brave, and also performing with her Dad, Craig Fletcher, sometime bassist with Barclay James Harvest.

This is clearly a very musical family - and now it’s Jake’s turn. Come on down and have a listen.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday, 19th: Julian Socha.
Excellent guitarist and vocalist, with a most unique style - something to do with the extra set of fingers, no doubt. Come and have a look.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday 29th: Greg Paul.

This was a last minute booking as I've been and gone and messed up my calendar, so I'll probably do a couple of numbers with Greg to help out. If anyone else wants to play a spot in the middle they'd be very welcome. Just let me know.

This Sunday at the Wine Bank, Oct 22nd: Clint Jr.

With his uncanny versions of early Dylan numbers Clint Jr. looks and sounds young enough to be a revisitation of the Zim himself – but there are more facets to him than that. He also writes great songs, and plays beautifully in a variety of genres.

Come and see.

Wine Bank regulars Band Of Jays are with us this Sunday, 15th Oct, and it's always a pleasure to welcome them back.

Great rhythm and 3-part harmonies from Jade Harris (lead vocalist), Sam Hodgson (vocs and guitar), and Chris Ruffoni (vocs and bass).
Come and see.

Coolhands were booked to play at the Wine Bank this jazz festival Sunday eve, but the wee man has been fiddling on the roof and somehow bust a finger, so we had to have him put down.

Now it’s me and friends instead.

I’ve managed to persuade Colin Walker, Terry Kenyon, and Phil Calverley that they are indeed my friends, and that they ought to let me play with them. They’ve said okay as long as I don’t make them smoke behind the gym. We’ll see about that.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday, 1st Oct, a very welcome return for Julian Socha.

Two truly wonderful musicians at the Wine Bank this Sunday, 24th Sept: Jonny Hulme and Simon Brady.

If you’ve seen them before you’ll be coming back for more, and if you haven’t...well, your life is bereft of all meaning.

Just get down there.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday, 17th Sept: Greg Paul and Guy Warren.

Together Again. Isn’t that the title of a country song?

Haven’t seen these guys sharing the stage for a while, so it’s something to look forward to. Excellent musicians both.
Faithless roads, red dirt women...songs of exemption...classic Alt Country. I love it. Come on down and see what you think.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday, 10th Sept: Dave Bash and Poppy Fletcher.
Guitar whiz and human jukebox Dave Bash is here to stun us once again with his unfeasible digits, and on this occasion he’ll be joined by talented young vocalist Poppy Fletcher.

Come on down and have a listen. It’ll be good.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday, 3rd Sept: Terry Kenyon and Friends. That'll include Julie Jones, plus Angie and Antony Sprawson for sure - and maybe he has even more friends than that. Who knows?

This is Julian’s first time at the Home Of The Brave, but he comes on high recommendation – an excellent vocalist and musician, playing a variety of instruments. Look forward to it.

At the Wine Bank this Sunday, July 30th: Band Of Jays.

Very accomplished young trio – I try to get these guys in as often as I can. Proper chords, tight harmonies, a warm and welcoming sound.

With Jade Harris (lead vocs) Sam Hodgson (guitar) and Chris Ruffoni (bass). Come and have a listen.

Appearing at the Wine Bank this Sunday, 16th: The Chandeliers.
Guitarist Neil Diffley is an excellent jazz musician in his own right, but with The Chandeliers (Sarah Leyton-Bennett vocals and James Monroe double bass) you can expect a broad mix of material from jazz to pop.
Come on down and have a look.

Open mic at the Wine Bank this Sun 2nd July. Usual deal - everyone welcome, and free pint to all performers.

If you intend to play it would be helpful if you would post here or otherwise let me know. It just gives me an idea of numbers, and how much I might need to practise. Wouldn't want to overdo it.

Oops, lost track of the days. This week at the Wine Bank, Sun 18th: Dave Bash.
Great guitar work and an extraordinary repertoire from da man. Dave says he'll try and take a break, so that a couple of us mortals can have a go if we want, but he can't guarantee it. Once he's roliin' he's rollin'.

As you were then.

Greg Paul blows into the Wine Bank this Sunday 11th Jun, shaking the dust from his boots and ordering up a couple of shots of red-eye before bringing us some Alt Country stylings. Steve Earle, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Guy Clarke are some of his heroes - and they're some of mine too. Happy days.

I think Greg might be accompanied by one or two steely-eyed strangers from the badlands of Glossop or somesuch, but what do we care? If they're looking for trouble they've come to the right place...

Greg Paul was booked for the Wine Bank this Sunday 4th , but he's had to pull out for family reasons.
It's a bit late to be asking anyone else to step in, so I shall host an open mic night instead. Free drink for anyone who wants to do a couple of numbers - and it would be helpful if you could post and let me know.
Please don't make me drink alone. It's bad for my liver, and not that great for your ears.
