Billingshurst Dramatic Society and Horsham based Lights & Bushels Theatre Company have joined forces to present an original comedy by Lights & Bushels co-founder Kathryn Attwood. “The Clemsworth Retainers” follows the antics of the volunteers at Clemsworth House who, together with owner Basil, attempt to save his crumbling ancestral home. Performances 9th, 10th & 11th July at 7:30pm in The Women’s Hall, 81 High Street, Billingshurst, RH14 9QX.

Ahhh, village gossips. Where would we be without them?
Mrs Nora Peabody happened to be in the Co op at the time of the incident and she was delighted to assist the police with their enquiries.

She will dine out on this story for years! Called to give evidence at the trial is the most exciting event she has had in her life, but how much is the truth and how much had been embellished??

Will her version of events sway the jury? Thats for you to decide

Introducing the legal eagles!

The Right Honorable Mr Justice Martin,
Judge Martin presides over the bench with weary indignation, feared by barristers, frequently disappointed with those lower classes brought to his courtroom.

Mrs Amanda Foster KC, prosecution barrister.
She dissects witnesses with surgical precision, regards excuses as personal insults and can make the phrase 'I put it to you' sound like the beginning of an ex*****on!

And finally Ms Helena Rathbone KC, counsel for the defence. She has the icy confidence of a woman who could defend a fox in a hen house. Glides through chaos with charm and selective outrage!
