It was so lovely to welcome the Diabetic Duo to the Reign Academy studios to watch Faye rehearse her solo for the Dance World Cup.

They took the time to chat with Faye about all things Type 1 diabetes and dance, which was so refreshing and inspiring. Having role models who truly understand the condition means so much to Faye, especially as she hopes to be a role model herself for the younger generation of dancers. It just goes to show that you should live your life to the fullest and never let diabetes define or control you.

It’s amazing to see these three young ladies using their platforms to raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes in sport and dance, encouraging other children and young people living with the condition to chase their dreams with confidence.

Together, they are proving that Type 1 diabetes doesn’t have to hold you back and that with determination and support, anything is possible.

⚠️ Studio Closed This Evening ⚠️

Due to the ongoing situation in Belfast and further planned protests today, we have made the difficult decision to close the studio this evening.

Unfortunately, a number of our teaching staff are unable to travel safely to and from the studio, as public transport services have been cancelled and significant disruption is expected.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. The safety of our staff and students must remain our priority.

How do you feel about representing Team NI?
I feel really privileged to be going with Reign Academy of Dance to the DWC and to be representing Team Northern Ireland.

What do you love about dance?Dance is a part of who I am, I love that there are so many different styles and ways to express yourself. I love the buzz of dancing on stage.

What are you most looking forward to about Dance World Cup?
I’m most looking forward to performing on the DWC stage and being able to watch my team mates and other dancers from across the world.

Hi, my name is Perri, I’m 10 years old and I dance at Reign Academy.

How do I feel about representing team NI?

I feel amazing because it's something I didn't expect after just starting dance. I'm so excited to get to represent NI with so many of my friends.

What do I love about dance?

I love dance because it allows me to show who I really am. I have loved trying new styles and finding that I love jazz, hip hop and musical theatre.

What am I most looking forward to about Dance World Cup?

I can't wait to perform on the big stage with all my friends and cheer on everyone else.
