A little motivation from Professor Dolly for you!

NEVER let line dancing feel like a chore. Or something to dread. We all get frustrated at times, but it should never feel stressful.

Yes, we want to master the dances. But enjoying the process of learning is the most important thing and there is no rush, either!

Comparing yourself with people who’ve been doing it for longer or simply have the knack of remembering the steps is pointless. Your progress and enjoyment of line dancing is unique to you.

And remember…. I’m always on hand. If you need a bit of extra help, I’ll be happy to do so 🫡

Over this last few weeks, a number of you have asked me about joining my Tuesday Improver to Intermediate class, usually wondering whether you'll manage the dances, so let's have a chat about it!

I will say right now there are at least a dozen of you who would easily rise to the challenge, but I will mention no names!

🤠 It's a friendly, fun environment with class numbers sitting between 25-40 most weeks - so a smaller class than you're used to

🤠 Mainly Beginner through to High Improver level dances, with occcasional Intermediates. There is overlap, so you will recognise some of the dances, but there will also be plenty you don't

🤠 Dances include 32, 48 and 64 counts, so some will be longer than you're used to. They're to a variety of music styles, often with tags and restarts

🤠 I teach a new dance most weeks, a long with refresher/walk throughs of newer dances or ones we've not done for a while. But there are ones we go straight into, that we 'should' know

🤠 This class is not hard core line dancing and there is nothing to fear. Nobody will be judging or laughing (aside from me 😬) However, you do need a solid grasp of the basic steps, as well as the terminology. If you're still finding dances like Rhumbumbumba, Rita's Waltz and Love Potion 666 a bit challenging, you may find the Tuesday session a little too hard for now

🤠 Joining a more advanced class with experienced dancers can be daunting, but you will also learn a lot from them. If you've aspirations to level up, this will be your way forward

🤩MOST IMPORTANTLY 🤩

You don't have to choose between classes. If you join us on Tuesdays, you won't automatically lose your place on Wednesdays. You can do either or both.

Similarly, there is no rule that says you have to be ambitious. If you're happier sticking with Easy/Beginner level, that's perfectly OK!
