History
Hickleton Hall H is a Grade II* listed Georgian stately home in Hickleton, South Yorkshire, England—about 6 miles (10 km) west of Doncaster. For more than 50 years (until 2012) it was a Sue Ryder Care home, and at one point was being converted into luxury apartments.
However, we are more interested in a different side of the Hall’s story.
It’s no secret that the church on the Hall’s grounds is haunted. Sightings have been reported near the church, including a ghostly naked man and a man searching for his head. The sinister church also keeps three skulls in the lychgate’s grille under the words “Today for me. Tomorrow for thee.”
But what has gone far less reported is the Hall itself, which has had reports of being built upon unconsecrated burial ground which was saved for people who were not christened or were considered villainous.
