Today marks three years since we lost Paul, and not a day goes by without his presence being felt through the extraordinary work he left behind.

Paul had a remarkable gift for capturing atmosphere, memory, and the quiet beauty of forgotten places. His paintings continue to inspire, comfort, and connect people, exactly as he hoped they would.

As we reflect on his life and legacy today, we’re sharing some of his works in “New Spaces – New Year.” Each piece is a reminder of his unique vision, his love of landscape and architecture, and the deep emotion woven into every brushstroke.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, share, and cherish Paul’s art. It means more than words can say.

Forever remembered ❤️

🎄 Day 6 of the 12 Paintings of Christmas 🎄
“Rhododendron”

For Day 6, we travel far from the winter chill and into a landscape glowing with colour and light. Rhododendron brings together two striking worlds: the snow-laden mountains rising like great white cathedrals, and the vivid, fiery blossoms of the Rhododendrum tree standing proudly in the foreground.

There’s a festive magic in the contrast, the cool, crisp brilliance of the peaks set against the warm reds and greens below, like nature has dressed itself in its own Christmas finery. The sunlight catches the petals and the bark, creating a sense of quiet celebration, as if the trees themselves are joining in the season.

This painting reminds us that Christmas beauty isn’t found only in winter scenes; sometimes it’s in the unexpected places, where colour and silence meet.

Join us tomorrow for Day 7 as Paul’s Christmas collection continues. ✨🎁

🎄 Day 5 of the 12 Paintings of Christmas 🎄
“High Force”

For Day 5, we arrive at one of the North’s most dramatic winter scenes, High Force.

In this painting, the waterfall thunders through its ancient gorge, sending up a mist that catches the pale December light like a breath of frost.

The dark cliffs rise steeply on either side, standing like great stone guardians, while the water below glimmers with a silvery sheen, almost as though someone has scattered Christmas sparkles across the surface. Even in the coldest months, High Force feels alive, powerful, and full of quiet magic.

Look closely and you can almost hear it, the deep roar echoing through the stillness, the kind of sound that reminds you winter is a season of strength as much as softness. A place where nature does its own festive display, no lights required.

Join us tomorrow for Day 6 as we continue our Christmas journey through Paul’s landscapes. ✨🎁

🎄 Day 4 of the 12 Paintings of Christmas 🎄
“Grove Rake Mine”

For Day 4, we move into the quiet heart of winter at Grove Rake Mine. The last light of a winter afternoon glows softly along the horizon, tinting the sky with the pinks and peaches of a beautiful sunset. The valley has settled into that deep seasonal hush, when even the cold seems to pause and listen.

The mine buildings sit in shadow, touched by the faintest sparkle as the river threads silver through the landscape like a ribbon on a Christmas parcel. There’s something timeless here: the stillness, the fading light, the memory of hard work and community held gently beneath a winter sky.

It’s a moment of North Pennines peace, where the world feels wrapped up warm, just for a breath, before the festivities begin.

Join us tomorrow for Day 5 of our festive journey through Paul’s paintings. ✨🎁

🎄 Day 3 of the 12 Paintings of Christmas 🎄
“Whinsill”

Today’s painting steps onto the ancient backbone of the North, the Whinsill. Formed over 300 million years ago, this great volcanic ridge cuts boldly across the landscape, shaping the drama and character of Northumberland.

In this piece, the ridge rises gently through winter light, its long shadow stretching across the fields. A small stand of trees gathers at the crest, holding their ground beneath a sky that promises weather, and stories. The muted purples of the clouds and the gold-tinged grasses bring a quiet, midwinter calm to a place that has witnessed centuries.

The Whinsill is a reminder of endurance. Of landscapes that last, and light that changes them every hour. Perfect for a December day.
