Bradford Bulls announce RockCentral Promotions as Official Comedy Partner
Bradford Bulls have teamed up with RockCentral Promotions in a new partnership that will bring live comedy to Odsal Stadium.
The partnership sees RockCentral Promotions become the Official Comedy Partner of Bradford Bulls, with the two organisations working together to establish regular professional comedy nights at the iconic Bradford venue.
RockCentral Promotions produces comedy nights across the North and Midlands, bringing established names from the UK comedy circuit together with some of the most exciting rising talent.
RockCentral Promotions founder and comedian Anthony Williams said:
"I've been a Bulls fan for more than 20 years, so the opportunity for RockCentral to partner with the club and bring live comedy to the iconic Odsal Stadium was a no-brainer.
"I think there are some real parallels between rugby league and comedy. Both have incredibly passionate audiences, both have strong roots in towns and communities across the North, and both rely on giving talented people the opportunity to develop and step up.
"The Bulls have a proud tradition of bringing players through their academy, and that's very similar to our philosophy at RockCentral. We want our audiences to see established headline acts, but we're equally passionate about putting the best rising comedians alongside them and giving them a platform.
"Hopefully we'll have slightly fewer injury worries than Kurt!"
The partnership will kick off with Live Comedy at Odsal on Friday 30 October, headlined by Christian Reilly, one of the UK's most distinctive musical comedians, whose combination of sharp stand-up and brilliantly observed comedy songs has made him a favourite with audiences across the comedy circuit.
Joining Christian is Bradford's own Howard Walker, alongside Debbie Holt and exciting rising star Tom Williams, bringing together established circuit talent and newer acts in exactly the kind of line-up RockCentral aims to champion.
The event will be the first comedy night under the new Bradford Bulls and RockCentral partnership, with both organisations hoping to establish regular live comedy nights at Odsal Stadium.
Anthony added:
"We want this to become a regular fixture in the Odsal calendar. The aim is simple: great comedians, exciting new talent and a brilliant night out at one of the most iconic venues in rugby league.
"If Bradford audiences get behind it, we'd love to be bringing comedy to Odsal regularly."
