It’s been a busy and rather beautiful day at Faraway Follies…

Sunshine, huge skies and those incredible 180 degree views across the Welsh mountains.

Nia and her Pilates group were gracefully moving on the platform, people were arriving for secret saunas and Penguin Pool plunges, lunch was being eaten on the lawn, and of course there were plenty of cuddles from Ivy and Holly, the Faraway cats, and Daisy the dog.

And amongst it all, we welcomed back our lovely Wander Women for another day at Faraway. 💚

Sauna and cold plunge, sound bath, time together and then into the beautiful old stable, beneath the glass chandeliers and beside the log fire, for our Mosaic Meditation.

Although we’ve decided it may need a new name…

CAKE MOSAIC. 😂🍰

Just look at them! Colour, pattern, tiny pieces carefully considered and placed, and somehow every finished tile looked good enough to eat.

This is creativity without pressure. Hands busy, conversation flowing, people inspiring one another and that wonderful combination of concentration, laughter and relaxation that happens when we make together.

What do you think of their creations? We think they’re fabulous.

Thank you, Wander Women. It was an absolute pleasure creating art with you again around the Faraway table!

See you again, ladies! 🌿💚

💚 A lovely celebration of Hear Me! at Tŷ Pawb today

This lunchtime we gathered at Tŷ Pawb in Wrexham to celebrate the Hear Me! project and the children and families who have been at the heart of it.

Representing Arts for Health & Wellbeing CIC, the wonderful Adel Hughes stepped in to share a few words about our family creative day at Faraway Follies, Llandegla. Adel spoke about what happened on the day, the children's experiences and feedback, and the beautiful collaborative artwork that grew from it.

And now that artwork has a new home. 💚

The children's colourful mural and BSL inspired hand bunting, created by the children and families together, are now on display at Tŷ Pawb. Every hand represents an individual contribution and reminds us that communication and expression can take many forms.

It was also incredibly special to see the beautiful photography of Nadiia Vinichenko shown on the big screen. Her photographs captured the children making, exploring, playing and creating at Faraway so beautifully. You could really feel the joy of the day through the images.

A huge thank you to Adel for representing Arts and sharing the story, to Nadiia for documenting it with such care, and to DSN, the Hear Me! team, the children, families and everyone involved in bringing this project together.

From a creative afternoon beneath the huge skies of Llandegla to seeing the children's work celebrated in the heart of Wrexham.

Every voice matters. Every way of communicating matters. And every child deserves space to create and be heard. 💚
