Black Wax Live music promotion, label, blog, and radio show - www.blackwax.uk Adam Smith’s Back Wax was a weekly radio on a local community radio station.

Black Wax is now a live music promotions company and record label with a monthly radio show 'Let's Go' on Totally Wired Radio. Adam Smith was a concert promoter at The Square in Harlow, Essex since 2001 up until the venue’s closure in 2017. He's also promoted live and club events in and around Essex and London. He DJ’d the Rifles’ ‘No Love Lost’ 10th anniversary show at the Electric Ballroom (Camd

en) in 2015, Steve Diggle’s (Buzzcocks) album launch at the 100 Club (Oxford St.) in 2011 and at Butlins’ ‘Great British Alternative Festival’ in 2012. Adam promoted one of the last ever UK shows for legendary Small Faces (and Faces, and Rolling Stones) organist, Ian ‘Mac’ McLagan. Since 2007 he's also been a touring bassist for the Newtown Neurotics and more recently London power pop band Los Pepes. Adam's also played live for Eddie & The Hot Rods, Ed Tudor Pole and Chas Hodges. Fact: Adam rides a 1980 Vespa PX and likes Kiss, including the 80s stuff.

Happy New Year!

Thanks to all the managers, promoters, venues, event managers, technical managers, booking agents, and clients for a great 2025. It was quite a hectic year and I’m very grateful for the work and support.

And a massive amount of love for my family who have helped me make it through it all.

I’ve spent more time on the road this year than any previous, have visited over 100 venues, tour managed 12 acts across 8 countries and dealt with many technical and hospitality riders.

But tonight, at home, the most important event of all needs managing without error. There’s a little boy in the house discussing the finer details of the catering offer - will his homemade gingerbread snowmen be an acceptable replacement for cookies? Hopefully the artist approves.
