My name is Chris Williams, Born in 1985 and raised in Menai Bridge on Anglesey in North Wales and currently living in Bethesda, situated at the foot hills of the Carneddau mountains close to the Snowdonia National Park. Three out of four of my grandparents were artists - this must be where my interest in art comes from. I have been doing arty things my whole life - growing up I loved to draw but never had the confidence to add colour, however I started experimenting with paints in my early 20s. I am a self-taught artist and mainly use oil and acrylic paints but I also like to experiment with other mediums from time to time. I mainly paint from my imagination, taking my inspiration from the amazingly beautiful landscapes that surround the area in which I live. Abstract shapes in nature fascinate me, for example clouds and waves as well as organic structures such as the texture of tree bark and shapes of tree trunks. Looking in to the future I plan to keep working and improving my art and expanding my abilities to capture the world in my own impression and to exhibit my work for all to see in as many places as possible.

Welcome to my art page. I use this page as a platform to showcase and share my art with the world. I also use it as a place to advertise my work and to promote my online presence and my online shop. You can find me using

(With this collection of paintings, couture and textile pieces Sophia has taken inspiration from botanical and floral forms, with a strong Art Nouveau influence featuring stylised sinuous lines and flowing colours. All original pieces by Phia are lovingly created from upcycled, reused, waste and locally foraged materials.)

Sophia Ingham, designer and eco-artist was born into a wonderfully artistic and creative family, moving to North Wales as young child. Her fascination with clothing and appearance began at an early age, learning to sew and craft from her mother and making dress-up clothes for herself, friends and pets.
Whilst still at school, Sophia began designing and creating her own clothes, becoming a proficient seamstress making costumes for school plays and starting to earn her keep making clothing and soft furnishings. She progressed to study Art and Design, then Fashion and Textiles with Technology at Llandrillo College, graduating from the University of Glamorgan with distinction in 2001.

After working freelance as a designer and further studies in eco textiles and specialist antique techniques, Sophia set up her own business “Phia” in 2003, creating exceptional & unique art, apparel and accessories from recycled, foraged and sustainable materials, alongside raising a young family!

She continues to gather new creative skills such as freestyle weaving, needle felting and super-fine crochet, plus offers services such as bridal/clothing rejuvenations, bespoke soft furnishings and upholstery as well as creating her mutimedia eco-artwork and apparel, taking inspiration from and foraging for materials in the wild Welsh countryside.

Sophia is currently offering a range of craft workshops, and has her unique art and apparel on show and sale in venues throughout the UK, raising waste awareness and working with community and sustainability projects. For commissions, events and workshops visit www.phiaeco.com

For as long as I can remember I have held a burning passion to be creative. From the very first time I began making marks I have never stopped creating images. Over the years I have developed my style and have arrived at one that is completely my own.

Following completion of my Fine Art Degree at Liverpool John Moores University, I made a name for myself and my work has now reached collectors all over the world.

My oil paintings take landscapes and abstracts as subjects, and I often find myself jumping between the two, thus connecting them together.

I apply oil paint thickly, and apply it to the canvas in wide and energetic strokes building layer upon layer of lush colours. Each artwork is a maze of mark making that takes the viewer on a journey through the painting. My paintings are a labour of love, and some of my works often take me up to several months to complete.
