Guisborough Panto Local pantomime group

03/01/2022

Due to uncertainty surrounding Covid guidelines and restrictions issued by the Government, we feel, at this time, it is not possible to start rehearsals in time to produce a pantomime in April. We are very disappointed to have to come to this decision as we feel it would be a great morale boost for the town.
We hope to hold our Annual General Meeting as usual in March and look at focussing on holding our usual auditions in September 2022. The dates of the AGM and provisional audition dates will be publicised here later.

We have been asked by St Nicholas' Church (who own the Parish Hall) to postpone starting the Pantomime at present, so we are going push the show to April 2022 with rehearsals starting in January 2022.

We are planning several events to ensure that the hall, costumes, set, props etc will be ready in time. Any support you can offer over the next few months would be gratefully appreciated. No experience is required just enthusiasm and a sense of humour.

Thank you for your support

The group will be holding its AGM in the Parish Hall, Bow Street, Guisborough on Sunday 27 June at 2pm. During the meeting there will be a discussion on the group's scheduled and contingency plans. We look forward to meeting up with group members as well as meeting anyone interested in joining the group. Obviously, Covid-secure and social distancing measures will be in place. Remember to bring and wear your mask, unless by 27 June this rule has been relaxed.

Further to our notice on August 23, the short open meeting regarding the next pantomime production will take place at 2pm this Sunday (6 September) in the car park of the Parish Hall on Bow Street, due to the Hall itself being closed due to the current coronavirus restrictions. If you want to attend, or know more about the meeting, please feel free to email [email protected]

We have today been advised that are unable to hold the meeting on 6th September in the Parish Hall (as notified on 20 August). If you were planning to attend, please can you email the group at [email protected] so we can let you know as soon as possible where the new venue will be. We will also update this page as well.

With the ongoing uncertainty around public performance restrictions, the committee has decided to delay this year's auditions from early September until hopefully early November. There will be an open meeting for all those interested about the current plans for the 2021 production, 'Dick Whittington' in the Parish Hall, Bow Street, Guisborough on Sunday 6 September 2020 at 2pm. For more details please email the group at [email protected]

In these uncertain times, we hope that all our followers and supporters are well and we just wanted to remind you that we are still planning to put on a 2021 production, but whether it will be in the usual second week of January or not remains to be seen. When it is safe to do so, we will hold auditions so stay safe and keep an eye for updates.

Our 'King' in Humpty Dumpty unfortunately over committed himself and is no longer able to do the part. If anyone is interested then please message this page with your phone number and I will get in touch. It is not a big part and we will give extra rehearsal time to bring the lucky actor up to speed x
