Painting sculptures for the artist Michael Landy, this one is St Girano, patron saint of Naples and he had his head cut off! I first worked on Michael Landy’s sculptures in 2013 when he was artist in residence at the national gallery, he had a show called ‘saints alive’ with these wonderful saints some kinetic taking from paintings in the gallery, my dad who was a devout catholic loved the shoe and went 4 or 5 times. Thanks to for taking me to see the show. 1.”Spanish lady “ 1950 painted when she was ill in bed, her work reminds me of Frida Kahlo who was also working from her bed at the time on the other side of the world, they both share surrealist dreamlike quality.
