Our free Experience Days are a fun, friendly introduction to the National Boys Choir for boys aged 10 to 15 with unchanged voices.

Singing helps boys build confidence, develop musical skills, make new friends and be part of something special. Whether they're already keen singers or simply curious to give it a try, our Experience Days offer a welcoming first step.

SPRING CONCERT- 28th March, 7pm
We are delighted to welcome Polly Beck as soprano soloist in Vivaldi Gloria, in addition to her role conducting the children’s choirs in St Nicolas.
Polly is originally from Liverpool and has now lived in Greenock for over twenty years.
She studied singing at the RCS, achieving a BA in Music Performance. Polly sang for 3 years in Scottish Opera chorus, then won a scholarship to the Royal Northern College of Music where she achieved an MMus.
Her awards include the following scholarships: D’Oyly Carte, Peter Moores and Countess of Munster. She also achieved her LTCL Teachers in Speech and Drama. Polly has worked with Scottish Opera Education as an animateur, and soloist with Scottish Opera Orchestra delivering projects to pupils and CPD to teachers.
Polly is the Vocal Coach for the RSNO Chorus. Coaching, teaching, and workshops for other organisations include Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, National Youth Choir of Scotland, University of Glasgow, Inverclyde Music
Services, Royal School of Church Music (RSCM), Music Partners in Education Group (MEPG) and NASUWT Education conferences on Singing, Performing and Vocal Health.
As a soloist, role highlights have been Sieglinde - Die Walküre for the Edinburgh Players, Female Chorus- The R**e of Lucretia for the 40th
Anniversary in Aldeburgh. Polly continues to enjoy a variety of concert work both here and North America – she recently sang as a soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with the RSNO Chorus, Verdi’s Requiem with the Royal Scottish
National Orchestra and Chorus and Poulenc’s Gloria in Glasgow and on tour with the RSNO Chorus in Budapest.

SPRING CONCERT- 28th March, 7pm
We are delighted to welcome Elysia Wilson as our alto soloist for Vivaldi Gloria.
Elysia is mezzo-soprano and trained at the prestigious Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying
with acclaimed soprano Jane Irwin.
There she developed the expressive depth and technical command that defines her work today. Known for her warm, richly coloured tone and expressive musicality, she brings both depth
and nuance to her performances.
Elysia is a two-time recipient of the Donald Dewar Arts Award and has also been honoured with the Sybil Tutton Award, the Countess of Munster Award, and the Scottish International Education Trust Award, recognising both her
artistry and professional promise.
Operatic roles include Giulietta in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann, the Komponist in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, and Mère Marie in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites. On the concert platform, she has appeared as
soprano soloist in Duruflé’s Requiem at St Andrew’s and in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh, as well as in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle.
Beyond the concert hall, Elysia has performed on prominent national stages, appearing as the BBC’s guest soloist at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and as a Scottish anthem singer at the Rugby World Cup in Australia.
After taking time away from full-time professional performance to raise her family and devote herself to teaching in Inverclyde, Elysia developed a deep passion for supporting young singers in discovering their voices and building
confidence through music. This commitment to nurturing emerging talent continues to shape her work, and she now returns to the stage with renewed focus and a deepened connection to her craft. She is honoured and extremely
excited to be performing alongside her students this evening!
