Thank you to everyone who responded, shared, and reached out after yesterday’s post. The support, kind words, and comments mean a huge amount — and remind us just how much this place matters.
The Horsenden Loaf isn’t just a bakery. It’s a place people meet, slow down, and connect. It’s local food, made with care. It’s jobs, skills, and something we’ve all built together over time — in partnership with Perivale Brewery (), the Friends of Horsenden (), and the wider network of site partners who make this place so special.
Right now, that’s under real pressure.
Alongside the access issues, we’re also dealing with ongoing problems with the site toilets — something that still hasn’t been properly resolved. Not the most glamorous topic, we know… and not something anyone wants to discover mid-coffee! With summer coming and more people visiting, this puts even more strain on the whole space.
If Horsenden Loaf can’t keep going, it’s not just a business that’s lost:
* It’s jobs
* It’s a community hub
* It’s a space that brings joy to so many people
If Horsenden means something to you, now is the time to speak up. We need our community behind us.
Here’s how you can help:
* Share this post so more people understand what’s happening
* Comment with what Horsenden means to you
* Tag people who love this place
* Ask local decision-makers what they’re doing to support Horsenden and other community spaces
Frankly, we’d rather be talking about our bakes, not bathrooms — but the more visible this is, the harder it is to ignore.
