We’re excited to announce Frankenstein + Antony and Cleopatra as two new titles for National Theatre At Home.

Frankenstein, directed by Academy Award®-winner Danny Boyle, is on 30 Apr and 1 May. Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternate the roles of Frankenstein and his creature.

Antony & Cleopatra, directed by Simon Godwin, with Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo as Shakespeare's fated couple, is on 7 May.

We’ll be announcing more titles soon. 🍿❤️🎞️

যাত্রাশিল্পী ও নির্দেশক ভিক্টর দানিয়েল এর মৃত্যুতে উদীচীর শোকবার্তা

বাংলাদেশের যাত্রাশিল্পের দিকপাল ভিক্টর দানিয়েল আজ দুপুর ১২ টা ২৫ মিনিটে আগারগাঁও নিওরো সায়েন্স হাসপাতালে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে বাংলাদেশ উদীচী শিল্পীগোষ্ঠী কেন্দ্রীয় সংসদের সভাপতি ড. সফিউদ্দিন আহমদ ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক জামসেদ আনোয়ার তপন যৌথ শোকবার্তায় গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করেন। তারা বলেন, ভিক্টর দানিয়েল এর চলে যাওয়া যাত্রাশিল্পের অনেক বড় ক্ষতি । যাত্রাশিল্পের এই ক্রান্তিকালে তার মত মানুষের প্রয়োজন পূরণ হবার নয়।
ভিক্টর দানিয়েল যাত্রাশিল্পী হিসেবে সারা জীবন কাজ করে গেছেন। তিনি শিল্পকলা একাডেমি সহ সারা দেশে বিভিন্ন অপেরাতে প্রশিক্ষক হিসেবে কাজ করেছেন ও যাত্রাপালার নির্দেশনা দিয়েছেন। সর্বশেষ তিনি বাংলাদেশ উদীচী শিল্পীগোষ্ঠীর প্রযোজনা ’'বিয়াল্লিশের বিপ্লব’’ এর নির্দেশনা দেন।
নানা অসুস্থতায় আক্রান্ত হয়ে তিনি কিছুদিন আগে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন। আজ দুপুরে সেই হাসপাতালেই শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন।
এই শিল্পীর মৃত্যুতে তাঁর শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি সমবেদনা জানিয়েছেন উদীচী কেন্দ্রীয় সংসদের সভাপতি ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক সহ অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দ।

করোনার ছোবলে আজ বিপন্ন বিশ্ব। বাতাসে ভাসছে ভাইরাস। জীবনরক্ষায় মানুষ গৃহবন্দি। বন্ধ দরজার কঠিন এই সময়ে মানবতার ডাকে বাংলাদেশ উদীচী শিল্পী গোষ্ঠী দাঁড়িয়েছে সেইসব মেহনতি মানুষের পাশে, অসুখের ভয়ের চাইতেও যাদের বেশি ভয় ক্ষুধার। কেন্দ্রীয় উদীচীর এই প্রশংসনীয় উদ্যোগে যুক্তরাজ্য উদীচীও সঙ্গী হতে যায়।

যুক্তরাজ্য উদীচীর পক্ষ থেকে আপনার প্রতি বিনম্র অনুরোধ, অসহায় মানুষের প্রয়োজনে সাধ্যমতো সহায়তার হাত বাড়িয়ে দিন।

আশা করছি, পৃথিবী এই কঠিন সময়কে অতিক্রম করবে শীঘ্রই। মানুষের ইতিহাস জয়ের ইতিহাস। দুঃসময়কে মোকাবেলা করে মানুষ জয়ী হবেই।
