Is Monday your worst day of the week?

Please don't let it be. 💚

Why not start your week with a walk in nature?

Whether you're feeling stressed, lonely, looking to build your confidence, overcome a little social anxiety, or simply want to get some fresh air and steps in, you'll be made very welcome.

We walk every Monday at 6:30pm, exploring our beautiful local green spaces with a strong focus on enjoying nature, good company, and improving our wellbeing.

Details of each walk are posted on the page a few days in advance.

Follow 'All Things Good And Nice C.I.C' on Facebook and come and join us. You'll be glad you did.

Oh yeah and it's FREE with no need to book.

Here's where we walked this evening. ☺️ 🌿

WE DID IT !!

Thanks to the generosity of you gorgeous people, myself and Zac managed to raise a whopping £1054.24 for children's litterpicking kits.

We've done this simply because we know that there are children out there who really want to keep the environment clean.

Up until this point, we’ve been using our own money for this, so we really appreciate you getting behind our mission.

How do you get hold of one?

Well, we have a few to dish out from a list we’ve been compiling, but essentially, we will be handing some of them out at our monthly NELC litterpicking events and whenever we do our impromptu pop up events.

Coupled with the ones im giving to primary schools each week as part of my work with the council, we are soon going to have droves of wonderful children keeping our town clean ☺️

Thank you to everyone for their support including Helping Hand Environmental for the supplies.

P.S.
We have £97 left in the fund which will go towards more kits as and when.

Just clearing the SD card 📷

Here's a slack handful of photos I've taken over the last month.

I'm not a great photographer, but i am ok at my field craft, which puts me in situations to either capture a good shot or something with a bit of character.

Unfortunately, I've been to busy to get out as much as I would like, so here's the best of an average bunch.

I think they are still nice to see 👀

Enjoy.

🚨 What are the chances?🚨

Today I met a brilliant young man who's just starting the volunteering section of his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

His name is Elliot James

My name is James Elliott

Yep... we've got exactly the same two names, just the other way round! 🤯

Despite the amazing work this fine young man is about to undertake, i couldn't resist leading with that because it's just too much of a coincidence not to share!

Now, we don't want that to take anything away from the fantastic thing Elliot is about to do. He's chosen to volunteer by regularly litter picking at Kite Surfers Beach (Fitties Beach), helping to keep this small and vert beautiful stretch clean for everyone to enjoy. There are the Fitties mob and other under the radar pickers who already make this area nice, so he will be in safe hands.

My role was to get him started by providing litterpicking equipment and setting him up with Zacs Cleanerwalks app, so he can record every cleanup and report any issues he finds along the way.

It was also lovely to meet his wonderful family (albeit briefly), especially his younger sister, Chloe, who is already keen to get involved and support her big brother. It's fantastic to see volunteering becoming a real family pursuit.

Best of luck, Elliot! I know you're going to make a real difference, and I look forward to following your progress.

Now... seriously... what ARE the chances of James Elliott meeting Elliot James?! 😊

There’s NO loyalty. 😭

Now, for the record, I would take a bullet for this gorgeous human, my brother Lee. But, I've just been sent a photo of him helping ANOTHER litter picker... that dastardly Frank Sparkes!

Not once has he offered ME any help.

I'm sorry, brother, but these are wounds that will never heal!

Just jokes... sort of. 🤣

Well done, Frank, for doing what you do even on a Sunday. 👏

Nature stuff with the lads!! 🌿 🛶

A massive thank you to Jazz White for inviting me along to the New Waltham Academy Summer Fair.

We spent a brilliant couple of hours sharing a bit of wildlife education, talking about the impact of litter and the small things we can all do to help look after the environment.

Josh, our coastal ranger, had everyone playing guess the bird sound. Jazz was running a nature game (which I somehow managed to lose several times 😂), and I spent my time showing people bits of litter that was older than most of the grown ups. Oh, and I let the kids climb into the boat, which was definitely one of the highlights.

This isn't really about changing mindsets. Most kids already care about wildlife and want to protect it. It's about keeping that connection alive, encouraging their curiosity, and making sure they keep being awesome 👌

Thank you to everyone who showed up and made it nice and busy.

It all ended with a butterfly release 🦋

I love school visits and educational nature walks with the younger generation and as this was a particularly busy week, turning up to forest school and having the children tell me all about their very own butterflies they've nurchered, was bloomin lovely.

These were Painted Lady butterflies.
They are the most widespread butterfly on Earth and undertake a spectacular multi generational migration of around 10,000 miles, so it was easy to give the children some exciting facts before we let them go.

It was quite amusing that I told the children several times not to touch the butterflies due to their delicate wings and then one of them immediately flies onto my hand 🤣

Super cute and a really cool way for the children to learn about life cycles

I hope you enjoy the video

Putting up your hand is NOT a sign of weakness.

I'm proud to be featuring in this film, which highlights the benefits of staying active as we get older, not just for our physical health, but for our mental wellbeing too.

It also reminds us how much simply getting outdoors and enjoying nature can lift our mood and improve our overall health.

Just as importantly, if you're struggling, ask for help because it's never a sign of weakness. It takes courage.

If you can, please watch and SHARE this film to help spread these important messages.

Thank you to the filmmaker John Williamson and to my good friend Neil Cartwright who also features in the film 🙏
