Simply Me Creations The name says it all - these are creations well simply by me. My crafting takes different forms and each day is a new journey.

Simply Me Creations is a small working studio where clients can attend workshops, book one to one or small group sessions and meet to discuss attendance or commission pieces.

Good Morning.

Late start today as my body just refused to get going. But go it must as the studio needs a thorough tidy and everything put away so I can make a start on new creations.

I may, if the tidy goes well, post a video later to prove it does look tidy once in a while. But one thing is certain, as I tidy that overflowing cauldron of ideas may well stop me and demand I play lol.

Evening everyone. So how do you follow two days of teaching Powertex? You get a visitor at the studio, the trainer who taught you 3 of the 4 Powertex training courses and you spend the day catching up, talking till the cows come home and introducing her to some of the non powertex products that I have used since before I discovered Powertex. I cant show pics as they are unfinished at present but Deborah Jayne Connelly has promised to share pics when they are.

It was fantastic to catch up today. It went far too fast so now you know where the studio is, you know you are always welcome Debbie ###xx

Good evening everyone. I have spent the last two days with two ladies who have been brave (or maybe foolish) enough to sign up for my Mastering the Medium course.

Both have used Powertex before so that was, I cannot lie, a help to my nerves in one way but it did also give me a few jitters.

The first two days focused on fabric sculpting and we began by making reference pieces using different colours of Powertex, different fabrics and colouring with an assortment of mica powders and pigments.

Then it was on to the first project, a decorative mirror which was left drying overnight before colouring. Today was armature building to create a sculptural figure. Sadly Wendie was not feeling too well so she wasnt able to join us until after lunch so she is playing catch up. But Debbie made her figure, then coloured her mirror before going back to the figure to add lace and then colour. She finished off with a little extra project of a notebook.

Good Morning from the Shire Hall in Howden. It's a beautiful day for a walk into town and a visit to the Craft Fair. I have some event special prices so get a head start on your festive shopping (Far to early for the C word) or at these prices treat yourself because You are worth it.

Good Afternoon.

I want to ask you a question or two.

How many of you have seen a new craft, loved the look of what it can do and jumped in heart first and bought the lot spending a small fortune only to then think what have I done?

How many of you still have these products unused in a cupboard because you don't know where to begin?

I freely admit I have, more than once.

Then there are the products you try but don't get the results you see on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and You Tube even though you have watched the How To again and again so you just give up, thinking its not for you.

And how many of my followers have got Powertex and still not had the courage to open that bottle at home alone because they are just scared it won't go right?

Not everyone gets it from watching a video tutorial or from written instructions. For some they prefer to be guided by a person who has not only talked the talk but who has walked the walk. Who has made the mistakes and got through them.

As a Powertex Master Tutor I was once you, I didn't know if I was doing it right and when I took my tutor training I found out just how wrong I had been using the product and how much money I had wasted.

I have just one place left on my Mastering The Medium course.

Just one apron waiting to have a name added to the course logo.

We start on Sunday 11th October.

Another wonderful session this afternoon and a new technique taught and a completed project. The young man making this today saw the bottle at the recent glass and bottle workshop and wanted to do something very specific. He loved the reverse of the bottle label which, as on the front, featured a snake.

So today he came to learn how to make stone art clay, how to use it in a mould to cast a snake and then attach it to the bottle and colour it.

And instead of the LED Cork string lights we decided to use something new and turn it into a Table Lamp. The shade is touch operated and charges via a USB so it can go anywhere.

Here is a short video of today's creation, simple but so effective.
