Looking forward to tonight’s Royal Philharmonic Society where Nordic Music Days is shortlisted in the Series and Events category, supported by Warner Classics & Erato. Royal Scottish National Orchestra, David Fennessy, Kirkcaldy Orchestral Society and Ethan Locke are in the mix too, so it’ll be a fun evening all round!

Northern Connection is a new and innovative project that aims to connect Nordic countries and Scotland by establishing and strengthening liaisons between composers, ensembles and festivals in contemporary music. Learn more about the project and its composers, ensembles and other partners here!

Great that Nordic Music Days Glasgow has been shortlisted for the RPS Awards in the Series and Events category, which is supported by Warner Classics & Erato. It's been really interesting to discover the programmes of the other events on the shortlist as well - Southbank Centre's Multitudes programme for April looks cracking, and JAM on the Marsh looks like a belter. If you're in the area for either then get along!

We're very excited that the 2024 edition of Nordic Music Days has been shortlisted for the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards in the Series and Events category!

Nordic Music Days is shortlisted alongside two fantastic festivals - JAM and Southbank Centre's Multitudes - with the winner to be announced on 12th March.

NMD 2024 had an ambition to build long lasting partnerships between Scotland and the Nordics. A year on, it's great to see partnerships flourishing with new collaborations and performances. October 2025 featured three legacy projects:

🎉A voice of their own at Opera Music Days in Iceland, with NMD 2024 participants Stefan Sands Grove, Colin Levin and Drake Music Scotland

🎉Nordic Music Journeys in Glasgow, with Art Music Scotland, The Night With and the Swedish Society of Composers

🎉Qullaq at Suialaa Arts Festival in Greenland, an NMD commission restaged with musicians from Nuuk and Ensemble New Music Talinn
