✨ A moment I’m incredibly proud of… ✨
Today I submitted my application for a Master’s degree in Art and Social Practice at UHI.
Whether I am offered a place or not, simply reaching this point feels like a victory.
Not so long ago, I was facing homelessness, uncertainty, and a future that felt impossible to imagine. There were days when hope was hard to find and even harder to hold onto. Yet somehow, through creativity, determination, and the support of those who believed in me, I kept moving forward.
Crafting became more than a hobby. It became a lifeline, a way to rebuild confidence, process experiences, and reconnect with purpose. What started as making things with my hands has grown into a mission through Empower Stitch co — using creativity to empower others, reduce waste, build community, and show that difficult circumstances do not have to define our future.
Applying for this Master’s is another step on that journey. It’s an opportunity to deepen my understanding of how art can create social change and help people thrive through conscious, meaningful creativity.
No matter what happens next, today represents a full-circle moment: from homelessness and hopelessness to determination, purpose, and a drive to help others find their own path through creativity.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, shared my work, donated to my projects, or simply cheered me on. You are part of this story too.
Here’s to taking chances, dreaming bigger, and proving that it’s never too late to rewrite your future. 💜💜
