As a fully remote studio, we often have to think outside the box a bit when it comes to celebrating key events in the calendar. Pride Month has been no different, but that doesn't mean we haven't been active! 🌈
Our RainbowFish ERG Community has been celebrating Pride this June by exploring q***r figures within the Games industry who inspire us as developers. These have included Emilia Schatz, Tim Cain, Brittany Aubert, Nikki Jay, and Gabby DaRienzo. We've really enjoyed exploring the works of developers who we can relate to and who represent our values of individual empowerment and inclusive community!
We also discussed what brings us joy as q***r people. In a world that can often feel like it is moving backwards in a lot of ways, it has been refreshing to have the opportunity to reflect on the pride we have in our expression, in the silly things that make us laugh, make us cry, or make us grateful as q***r people and as allies.
We're due to close the month out by collaborating with our Junkfish Queens ERG with a Film showing of Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017) where we will discuss our ideas and experiences around intersectionality and issues that impact q***r people as well as women, which we hope will be an enjoyable and informative session for everyone involved.
