Glasgow Symphony Orchestra

Glasgow Symphony Orchestra Glasgow Symphony Orchestra is an amateur orchestra established in 1975. Our members range in age from 18 to over 80!

We rehearse on a Tuesday evening in the West End and perform three times a year in venues across Glasgow, often joined by soloists. Our repertoire is mostly, but not exclusively, classical, and we perform music by both major composers and those less-well-known. Glasgow Symphony Orchestra is a Scottish Registered Charity No. SC052506 regulated by the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

We are all excited to see you at our concert on Saturday 6th of December 2025! For this winter concert, we are playing Sleeping Beauty Suit, Lieutenant Kije and Rachmaninov’s piano concerto nº3 along with our invited concert pianist Maurizio Arroyo Reyes. A call for help to all past and present members of GSO.

An archive of GSO material is being prepared during our 50th Anniversary Year.

The posters/tickets/programmes noted below are missing from the collection.

If you have copies which you are willing to donate, scan, or lend, please email [email protected].

Press cutting and photographs would also be very welcome. There were regular crits in the Herald in the earlier days of GSO.

Please pass this info on to any previous members with whom you may be in touch.

It would be wonderful to be able to complete 50 years of documentation!
