Pictured are our co-founders Frank McGowan and Michelle Martin - who began their journey in 2008 with the formation of Bad Pony Media (originally “Bad Pony Media Productions”) on a short film produced in association with London based Maximus Pictures for BBC Scotland called “Looking After Mum”.

Produced while the team were still film students, the short went on to be nominated for many pristigeous awards - including BAFTA Scotland, winning “Most Impactful Short” at festivals across the UK.

Michelle and Frank, who have been friends since high-school, said: “It was a pleasure to work with Mary and Phil. [The film] threw us into the limelight pretty quickly. Seeing ourselves on the news was surreal. We were in the middle of dinner and flicking the channels and Frank had said, ‘I think that was us.’ And it was!”

Bad Pony Media has continued to disrupt the global industry with content from Scotland produced across all genres - including; series drama, factual entertainment, music video, children’s programming, documentary, animation, corporate, short film, feature film and comedy.
