Jamie McCormick is a neurospicy, pansexual, non binary, trans masculine, singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist, performer, poet & writer living in North East Scotland. Coming from a musical family & having been playing & performing since childhood, Jamie’s act is eclectic, & merges original music, comedy, choreography, drag artistry, burlesque & poetry. Over the years they have fronted rock ba
nds, played in covers bands, done musical theatre, opera, orchestral playing, choral singing, composition, studio recording & session work. Their poetry has been published in the anthology "Joined Up Writing" & used by the Glasgow Mission of the Order Of Perpetual Indulgence. With an emphasis on mental health awareness, gender issues & general queerness, their writing ranges from serious & soul searching to self-deprecating & satirical, but with a constant underlying theme of great hair. Pre & post plague they could be seen all over Scotland onstage at Pride & music festivals & Edinburgh drag clubs performing their eclectic mix of music in exciting shows employing elaborate costuming, not so elaborate choreography, & a healthy dose of humour. (During lurgy lockdown they could mostly be seen all over the world on Zoom in their jimmy jams & eyeliner being interrupted by a cat.) At age 10 was awarded a Burns Federation certificate for poetry recital for their reading of “Holy Willie's Prayer”. At age 12 won the World Wildlife Fund “illustrated children's poetry” award.
