Sunrise, night sky, warm breezes

Did you catch the eclipse? I had the best time watching it with friends — picnic blankets, eclipse glasses, a projection box. Staring up at that giant, glowing shape, I felt so small and so amazed all at once.

Afterwards we stayed the night, watching for shooting stars 🌠 A few streaked past with long, bushy tails. Just darkness, a warm breeze, and a sky full of stars. We slept half in the tent, half out — no words, just gazing up.

Not mention the view in the morning, bring me back to my early prints. Just want to share with you my pillow views.

A little shout out — I still have a space available for my Charcoal Drawing Course, starting this coming Monday 18th, 9:30am–12:00pm.

This course is for anyone who would like to slow down and reconnect with drawing through touch, texture and atmosphere. We will explore charcoal in a sensory way — the softness, dust, pressure, smudge, line and tone — allowing the material to guide us, rather than focusing only on the final image.

A gentle, supportive course for beginners or those wanting to return to drawing with more freedom.

There is something I keep returning to in my practice — the desire to bring printmaking out of the frame.

Printmaking is often seen as something flat, something held behind glass, but for me it has always carried a physical presence. The texture of the paper, the pressure of the press, the creaminess of the ink sitting on the surface — these are not just technical details, they are part of the life of the work.

By folding, stitching, cutting, layering and allowing the paper to move into space, I want the print to become closer to the body. Closer to touch. Closer to reality.

I am interested in what happens when a printed surface becomes sculptural — when it is no longer only an image to look at, but an object to encounter. The paper begins to hold memory. The ink becomes skin-like, dense, soft, and alive. The work asks to be seen slowly, from different angles, with an awareness of its material presence.

For me, this is where printmaking expands. It becomes not only a process of making images, but a way of giving form to feeling, memory and the quiet weight of materials.

Day two at Sussex Art Fair

I’m back at Sussex Art Fair today and feeling very grateful after a lovely first day of conversations, meeting new people, and sharing the stories behind my work.

I’m showing a new series of landscape-inspired prints and woven paper pieces, continuing from Be the Water Within Me. These works explore movement, touch, memory, and the quiet rhythm of water within and around us.

First day at Sussex Art Fair

The first day of Sussex Art Fair has begun, and it feels very special to finally see the work out of the studio and in the space.

After weeks of preparing, framing, mounting, stitching, painting supports and making decisions, the work is now here — standing in conversation with people, light, and the beautiful setting of Goodwood Racecourse.

I’m showing new pieces that continue from Be the Water Within Me, exploring water, movement, memory and the feeling of being held within the landscape. There are landscape prints, woven paper works and pieces that carry the quiet traces of touch and time.

Thank you to everyone who has visited, chatted, paused, asked questions, or simply spent a moment with the work. These conversations mean so much.
