Saturday 12th September - 10am-12:30pm
This is a taster workshop for the upcoming workshop series Foundations of Drawing. During this workshop you will explore the essential principles of line, shape, tone, form, scale, proportion and perspective.
With detailed instruction and support throughout, you will:
- Learn the key principles of drawing from observation
- Create realism in your drawing with shading and blending
- Apply what you have learned to drawing a still life study
With continued practice you will be able to:
- Competently observe scale and proportion
- Create highly realistic drawings
- Develop stronger compositional studies for paintings
During the workshop we will arrange objects to create a still life composition. These will include objects that are perfectly suitable for beginners to draw; such as bottles, jugs, flowers and fruit. You are welcome to bring an object of your choice to include in your composition. You will complete the session with an observational drawing of up to three objects.
These are flexible, pay-as-you go sessions with no commitment to booking a block. Suitable for complete beginners or those wishing to build on existing skills. Materials are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
Eloise graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in 2006 and is a practicing artist with nearly 15 years of teaching experience.
