Exeter University Modern Orchestra We're the University of Exeter Modern Orchestra, the modern, contemporary, jazzy, unauditioned Symphony Orchestra/Big Band of Exeter University!

The University of Exeter Modern Orchestra (EUMO) is the newest unauditioned musical ensemble which combines a Symphony Orchestra with Saxophones, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Synth and Vocals to play a range of modern and contemporary pieces including rock and roll, funk, jazz, musical and classic house. The orchestra was founded by Tom Arnold and Sam Washer in 2017 and is the first Contemporary Or

chestra in the South West and possibly at Universities in the UK. EUMO is based around the world-famous orchestras led by the Conductor and Arranger Jules Buckley such as the Heritage Orchestra and the Metropole Orkest. We rehearse on a Friday night at 6:30-8:30 in Frank Oliver at Kay House, Duryard and rehearsals are aimed to be a relaxing atmosphere at the end of the week to come and unwind and play music with friends. Each term we work towards a concert to be held at a venue in the city or at the Lemon Grove to showcase our work. Our key aim is to provide a welcoming, inclusive and positive environment for musicians to come together and play music which they wouldn’t usually play with musicians who they wouldn’t usually interact with as we are the only music ensemble which is truely all inclusive. We welcome all musicians and vocalists of any ability to come and play with us.
