So I was sent this Batise dry shampoo to try out from Influenster for free and I was a bit dubious about using this at first because I thought I would need to be careful around the lighter parts of my hair, but I shouldn’t have worried, it has a precision nozzle!

This is not only going to be my saviour when I have a crash day/week and need to freshen my hair without spending my limited spoons on washing it, the black pigment also helps to cover my roots when they grow through and makes my hair look thicker. I’m sold!

They do the same for blondes and brunettes!! No more white roots or lots of brushing.

Having been out with friends and doing other bits in the rare sunshine this weekend, my skin was feeling quite hot and dehydrated so I used the aftersun I was sen to try and it worked nicely. My skin is feeling cooler and hydrated, it’s not been too greasy and absorbed quickly so I can imagine how well it will work later in the summer and I have definitely converted from my well loved previous brand.

With the little bit of sun we have had over the last few days despite the breeze it has been warm enough to walk along the seafront with friends and sit outside their beach hut meaning I caught the sun and ended up with a bit a of pink arm so the aloe gel and helped to take the heat out. Cooling and soothing quite quickly. Don’t ask how the underside was the worse!!

Today’s work place was the amazing Beth Chatto Gardens where Lottie from Creative Mindfulness joined myself and my partner in crime Charlotte from Booth's Education Services and Tutoring - BEST for our first taster - Teen Photography Workshop… we learnt so much as you can see from my own photos here and one student has even managed to close off her skill share for her Bronze Arts Award!

Over the years we’ve become more aware of the damage the British sunshine does to our skin - SPF should be being applied not only when when we are relaxing abroad but everyday too and I will admit I have been a SPF face cream avoider because it’s alway felt too heavy and my skin can breathe.

However, when I was offered the opportunity to try Aveeno’s oat based moisturiser which has SPF 50 I thought why not and I am glad that I did - it isn’t any heavier than the other moisturiser I am currently using, I don’t need to put on a separate product on - I’m lazy with my day to day makeup/routine, my skin feels like it can breathe and it’s so soothing for the tight dry skin that perimenopause and winter heating has blessed me with. I have a patch of dark skin - melasma - which appears on the middle of my forehead during the summer - inheritance from my Nan and it will be interesting to see if this helps prevent this occurring this year!

Having been offered the chance to try Cushelle, I was pleased to find that it is as soft as its says and it doesn’t have any perfumes embedded in it which can make things a bit sore at certain times of the month! It is also soft enough and strong enough to be used with micellar water to remove the last traces of the day’s eye make up. A bit of an all around superstar and I have definitely been converted.

Plus, because in the cottage, any human using the bathroom has to have a furry companion… Quinny felt the need to check to see if the tissue was up to his approval and kitten soft 😂… it passed and he was equally happy that he can chase the empty tubes around before they go in the recycling.

We had the chance to try Charmin and even Quinny got in on the act and approves, agreeing that it is kitten soft and strong enough to survive some playful paws.

I approve because it has been gentle, strong with no unneeded fragrance so doesn’t make soreness and discomfort worse when perimenopause symptoms crop up! Plus when you run out of cotton pads to use with micellar water it does the job perfectly - dare I say I think it’s better than the pads!!

Blessed Imbolc - Today marks the first day of spring in the pagan calendar and I rose early this morning to sit and reflect and set my intentions for the next quarter - welcoming the dawn with a warm coffee and a peaceful start.

The season is about renewal, reconnection, rebirth and growth and today I was blessed to reconnect properly with loved ones from whom I’d allowed myself to drift due to anxiety and misguided thoughts. But the next few months means that I get to help the smaller ones to grow and blossom on the Arts Award course I am working with to run and already I can see their confidence shining through and know that they along with their homeschool friends are going to smash through every challenge I set them. ❤️
