Our first Round Table Talk was a success!! After a screening of La Rivière by Dominique Marchais, we spoke with guest speakers Manuel Pennuto and Sarah Robinson! 🤩
Manuel Pennuto is an Edinburgh-based filmmaker originally from the Italian island of Sicily. Largely self-taught, he brings a distinct, observational style to his work. His approach is rooted in "story-listening", using the camera as a tool to slow down, notice, and capture the inherent beauty of the mundane. Through his production company, Strength in Motion Films, he applies the same documentary approach to commercial projects, making films that bridge the gap between artistic observation and tangible business results.
Sarah is the Director of Conservation at the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Sarah’s role includes strategic management of the Trust’s network of over 100 wildlife reserves and innovative partnerships, including our Living Landscapes programmes and Saving Scotland’s Red Squirrels. The Scottish Wildlife Trust has also been leading the Blueprint project since 2024. Together with Riverwood, they are developing a practical blueprint for river woodland restoration and creation. The Blueprint project is currently delivering on its promise to put more trees in the ground, streamline funding for new projects, and take catchment communities on a journey towards practical river woodland restoration, amongst many other things.
