🏆 WE HAVE A WINNER!

JAMIE WOLF IS THE EDINBURGH FRINGE COMEDIAN OF THE YEAR 2026! 🏆🔥

After an incredible month of competition, 18 heats, a Wildcard, four Semi-Finals and one explosive Grand Final — Jamie Wolf has taken the crown!

🇺🇸 Jamie, from the USA, battled against four incredible finalists from around the world:

🇮🇪 Donal Vaughan — Ireland
🇪🇨 El Purnell — Ecuador, by way of the UK
🇲🇰 Vlad Ilich — North Macedonia
🇿🇦 Devin Gray — South Africa

And ultimately, it was YOU who decided.

There were no judges. No industry panel. The audience voted — and the Edinburgh Fringe audience crowned Jamie Wolf the best stand-up comedian at the festival in 2026.

The competition started with 350 applications, around 100 comedians were selected to compete in 18 heats — and after a month of huge performances, Jamie stands alone at the top.

A massive congratulations to Jamie and to every comedian who took part. ❤️

And a HUGE thank you to every single person who came along, laughed, voted and helped make this competition what it was.

Kwami Odoom finished runner-up on the night and still has a chance to make the final. He now has to wait for today's FINAL Semi-Final to see if his score is enough to secure the last place.

Our Top 20 now battle it out across the Semi Finals this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 5:30pm at Three Sisters, Cowgate.

Then on Sunday 30th August at 5:30pm, the final 5 go head-to-head in the GRAND FINAL.

The Edinburgh Fringe Comedian of the Year 2026 has reached its WILDEST stage yet.

After 18 heats, the TOP 6 RUNNERS-UP are going head-to-head tonight for the final places in the Semi-Finals — the comedians who secured the largest share of their audience vote without winning their heat.

🏆 QUARTER FINAL SHOW 7 WINNER: JAMIE WOLF! 🏆

Jamie Wolf starts his Quarter Final campaign with a WIN, taking the maximum 5 POINTS to the league table and putting himself close to qualification for the Semi-Finals! 🔥

🥇 Jamie Wolf — 5 points
🥈 Will Davies — 3 points
🥉 Tom Little — 1 point

Jamie makes a huge start to his QF round, while Will Davies takes 2 points and will hope to add to that with his second appearance.

Sadly, we have another Quarter Final casualty.

The fantastic Tom Little finishes his two QF appearances with a total of 3 POINTS and will now bow out of the competition at the Quarter Final stage — leaving us with a lot of hilarious memories from his time in the Joke Thieves World Championship. ❤️

The competition continues as the remaining comedians fight for places in the SEMI-FINALS and ultimately the CHAMPIONSHIP BELT, the Joke Thieves World Champion title and £1500 CASH. 🏆💰
