Mythography

Mythography Our Edinburgh-based theatre collective has been making gut-punching theatre since 2021. Our creations are raw, irreverent and adventurous.

We unearth myths of the past and imagine myths of the future through wild rewritings and new translations.

THOMAS CATTON: 2nd GUARD/MESSENGER/CHORUS

Thomas is an actor from Nottingham with previous Fringe experience including Underground Productions’s “Well Played” alongside EUTC shows such as “Guards! Guards!”, “Untold Stories” and “Venison” at this year’s Bedfest.
Having previously performed in last year’s production of Antigone, he is excited to return and find new ways to make audience members reach a feeling of catharsis.

GABRIEL BIRD: 1ST GUARD/CHORUS

Gabriel Bird is a half Italian, half American, half Swiss performer living in Edinburgh, where he graduated with honours from a Bath Spa-accredited institution. An award-winning actor (Best Actor, FEATS 2019), he's had the fortune to perform in many wide-ranging shows and stages, from the Geneva Conservatory to the Hong Kong Arts Centre. This August, he is delighted to be performing in Anouilh's "Antigone" with such a talented group as Mythography. He will also be performing in Arbery Theatre's "A Pound of Flesh", making it a busy Fringe indeed! In his spare time, he enjoys writing songs, reading books, and grooving to that funkalicious beat.

GIULIA BARP: ISMENE/CHORUS

Giulia Barp began acting in Vancouver as a child performer at the ‘Bard on the Beach’ Shakespeare festival. After relocating to the UK, she further developed her passion for performance through consistent participation in local productions. She later joined the Young Actors Company's screen academy and returned during her gap year as an assistant director. She pursued Theatre at A Level and is about to enter her fourth year studying Acting and English Literature at university, where she has gained more stage and screen experience through her studies and extracurricular projects. Most recently, she co-founded a theatre company with some fellow students, set to debut at the Edinburgh Fringe next year. She says that she is ready to be challenged creatively and professionally and she is excited to be a part of a bold retelling of a timeless myth for a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year.

NOAH SARVESVARAN: HAEMON/PAGE/3RD GUARD/CHORUS

I’m Noah Sarvesvaran, I’ve just finished my first year at The University of Edinburgh. Throughout this time I have been involved in a number of Bedlam Theatre productions, portraying a variety of characters including Emory in The Boys in the Band, Michael in Time Bends, Skullery in Road and Gonzalo in El Público. As an actor I am passionate about bringing honest yet creative performances to the stage, always eager to continue exploring new and challenging roles. So I’m absolutely buzzing to be a part of Mythography’s Antigone for my first ever Fringe!
