It's Dementia Awareness Week. 💜

The SCO is passionate about the power of music to connect with, comfort and uplift those living with a dementia, their families and carers.

Through our ongoing Music and Dementia work, we’ve seen how live music can lift spirits and create meaningful shared moments for people and their loved ones.

We’re continuing this with our Dementia-Friendly Concert on 18 June in Glenrothes (Rothes Halls), a relaxed, welcoming performance featuring classical favourites and familiar tunes.

This work is made possible through our Dementia Working Group and our partnership with Alzheimer Scotland, Dementia Services Development Trust, and Playlist for Life.

Zac Nedumpully, is a student at Castlebrae Community Campus in Craigmillar. Through his love for music, Zac has been involved in numerous SCO Learning & Participation programmes including the SCO Academy where he played live at the Usher Hall! 👏

We had such a blast with at the performing Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Beethoven.

It was our first visit in over twenty years! We take pride in representing Scotland overseas and love being able to perform at such prestigious venues like the .

We now return home for our Summer Tour travelling all across our beautiful Caledonia! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
