What a week!

The SCO was invited to support Sigur Rós for their Edinburgh and Glasgow performances, and it was a joy to be part of two fantastic nights of music. Thank you to the thousands of audience members who joined us and helped create such a special atmosphere across both cities.

What colour does music sound like? 🎶

Immerse invites S4-S6 pupils to experience a live orchestra up close while exploring the relationship between music and art. Built around The Origin of Colour by SCO Associate Composer Jay Capperauld, the programme combines performance, creativity and conversation, including an exploration of synesthesia and its influence on artistic practice.

We're bringing Immerse into schools, with performance, composition and visual arts workshops all designed to inspire the next generation of creative thinkers.

Our Open Rehearsals offer secondary, further and higher education music students a unique opportunity to witness a professional orchestra at work. Watch performances take shape, observe the rehearsal process and gain insight into how musicians prepare for the concert stage.

Taking place at The Queen's Hall, Edinburgh on the Wednesday of selected concert weeks, these rehearsals feature a variety of repertoire and world-class soloists, helping broaden students' musical knowledge and horizons.

Our festival season isn't over yet!
