Untie My Tongue Untie My Tongue is a theatre collective based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Untie My Tongue was created in 2019, with the goal of offering women and q***r people a stronger voice within Scottish theatre. Founded by four young actors living in Scotland, UMT’s goal is to make an impact with their writing, directing and acting, utilising their different roots, ideas and opinions through every project that they start.

Like co-working, but for playwrights. No experience needed, just an interest to write amongst others, share a creative space and eat some cake! ☕️

Are you an Edinburgh playwright looking for some space to sit down and write, in the company of others? ✍️

We are delighted to share we'll be hosting two Dramatic Writing Spaces this June - a place for writers to connect, get inspired and work amongst their peers. You are welcome to join us on the 13th & 27th of June at The Alibi Café for two hours of playwriting - however you like to do it.

Our spaces are ticketed, and you Pay What You Can through a donation, or opt for a Free ticket if you prefer.

And that’s a wrap!👏

What a fantastic time we’ve had since embarking on our trip to Mull back in March, to completing our sharing at the National Theatre of Scotland last Friday. We’ve had lots of brilliant ideas, lots of laughs, and have ended with a treasure of potentials to bring with us towards the next stage.
