What a night! 💖 On Friday, we got together in Edinburgh for a night of solidarity ~ROSÉ AND RAGE~ with women, trans and non-binary theatrefakers across Scotland (some travelling as far as Dumfries!)

It was an amazing way to celebrate five years of F-Bomb, mark International Women’s Day and meet so many brilliant creatives.

Thank you to for providing the space and an amazing front of house team (and an amazing bundle of playtexts as a prize) ✨And huge thanks to - all who generously donated raffle prizes to raise money for our Talent Database. We 🩷 local businesses who care about gender equality.

Celebrating women this starts with acting against structural inequality 💪 These stats give a glimpse into what women in UK theatre face daily - and don’t scratch the surface when it comes to the experiences of disabled, trans, q***r, Global Majority or working class women.

Join us on March 6 in Edinburgh for ROSÉ AND RAGE 🔥

As we celebrate FIVE years of F-Bomb and International Women’s Day, we’re inviting people of marginalised genders (women, trans, non-binary, genderq***r and intersex) working in Scottish theatre to come together - whether you want to rage against the machine or embrace a night of radical joy.

Expect new connections, themed drinks, dancing and a little “fun”-raising for our Talent Database including a raffle. Tickets are free but capped. Contact [email protected] for more info on how to register.

Universal basic income for artists would be a gamechanger, especially for gender-marginalised artists and those facing intersectional barriers. Our friends at Basic Income Network Scotland are hosting a free conversation at The Melting Pot in Edinburgh on March 29 to discuss how a basic income for artists can be explored in Scotland.

If you’re in Edinburgh or Glasgow and have a couple of hours spare, this is a meaningful way to reflect and give back during the festive season.

F-Bomb Theatre is not regularly funded - meaning we do A LOT of work off our own backs! This includes our Talent Database and FemiFringe Guide, as well as day-to-day operations… like having the time to apply to more funding 😅 This we would LOVE your support. A donation of any amount would help us out so much in our mission to make opportunities for women, trans and non-binary people in Scottish theatre - and who knows, maybe one day our HQ won’t be imaginary 🩷

We've been prepping for our London transfer and missed this in October – according to a new report by the Women’s Health Project Committee, 83% of women working in UK theatre say their jobs are made harder by health issues related to menstruation, menopause, fertility, pregnancy and pregnancy loss.

👉 Important note: many trans, non-binary and intersex theatre workers experience the same barriers – often with even less support.

This calls for robust workplace policies (and transparency communicating them), staff training, access to sanitary products and rest spaces, work flexibility and the destigmatisation of hormonal health issues.

Is this something you’ve experienced as a theatremaker? What support would have made a difference?
