Close-up table magic and a stand-up spot for a 25th wedding anniversary is exactly the kind of evening that i love.

Last night at Dalmahoy Hotel, the Lindsay family and their guests gathered to celebrate a quarter century of marriage. It was a warm, joyful room before I even began, which is always a good sign. Table magic like this works best when people are relaxed and in the mood to be surprised, and last night had that in abundance.

The stand-up spot gave everyone a shared moment together, which is something close-up work alone cannot always deliver. Both formats have their place, and combining them across an evening tends to leave guests with something to talk about long after the night is over.

The Edinburgh Festival season is something I genuinely look forward to every year.

August is the one time I step back from most bookings, and I spend it doing something I love just as much as performing. Supporting friends with shows on the Fringe, working behind the scenes as a magical advisor, helping build props, being part of the creative process without being the one in the spotlight.

There is something irreplaceable about live performance.

It cannot be streamed on demand, packaged into a playlist or recreated by an algorithm. The energy in a room when something happens right in front of you, that moment of genuine reaction, is what makes live entertainment what it is.

There's something genuinely special about being invited back into a family's celebrations.

I first met Fraser when his dad celebrated his 50th birthday at Stirling Castle — a wonderful evening, and a crowd who really got into the spirit of things. So when the message came through that Fraser was getting married and wanted me to be part of the day, it meant a great deal.

at the weekend I had the pleasure of entertaining guests at Rebecca and Fraser's wedding reception at the Westerwood Hotel and Country Club. A beautiful venue, a warm and generous crowd, and a couple who deserved every moment of joy the day brought them.

This is one of the quiet privileges of doing this work — building connections that come full circle. A child at a party grows up, books their own event, and suddenly you're watching a new chapter begin. It never gets old.

Spent the day with the families at Fife Young Carers — and what a day it was.

Young carers do something remarkable. They show up, day after day, for the people they love — often quietly, often without recognition. Events like this one exist to give them a moment to breathe, to laugh, and to simply be kids and families enjoying themselves. It's a privilege to be part of that.

A huge thank you to Linda and the entire team for the warmth and welcome, and for everything you do behind the scenes to make occasions like this possible. The work Fife Young Carers does genuinely matters, and it was evident in every corner of the room.

Magic has a way of cutting through — it doesn't need words or context, it just connects. Watching families share those moments of wonder together is a reminder of why this job means so much beyond the corporate rooms and wedding receptions.

Birthdays are always special. An 80th and a 21st celebrated together in the same room? That's a combination of decades, stories and personalities that you don't want to get wrong.

Tonight's event was one of those evenings that reminds you why this work matters. A stunning private venue just outside Edinburgh, two generations of family and friends gathered under one roof, and — perhaps my favourite impromptu stage of the year so far — the top of a swimming pool enclosure as a performance area. Sometimes a venue surprises you, and you just have to work with what you have. It turned out to be a beautiful, intimate setting that gave the performance a real sense of occasion.

Well, what can I say… I’ve just had the honour of performing at the fairytale wedding of all weddings for a very special VIP couple, in the most breathtaking setting. The sun shone brightly, and the venue was filled with the who’s who of the world.

Over the past 27 years as a full-time entertainer, I’ve been privileged to perform for three world presidents, members of royal families, stars of sport and screen, and an endless list of the world’s elite.

One thing I’ve always prided myself on is my clients’ privacy, and that’s why I’m trusted. I never take my job for granted and count my lucky stars every day for the incredible opportunities that my love of entertaining has brought my way.

Every wedding and every event is special, and I’m truly grateful to play a small part in creating unforgettable memories.
