We really appreciate every order, every lovely conversation and everyone who stopped by for a chat. It was so lovely meeting you all and seeing so many familiar faces too.

Things have taken a slightly unhinged turn at rare makes.

We’ve made festive dog tea towels.

Why? Because apparently Christmas wasn’t chaotic enough already, and we know how many of you are completely obsessed with your dogs.

We’ve got different breeds, different colours and plenty of ways to make them your own. Add their name, choose a suitably ridiculous dog pun, tell us what you want it to say, or just let the festive dog speak for itself.

And obviously, the dogs aren’t confined to tea towels. Choose your design, choose your blank and we’ll do the rest. They can go on any of our suitable items.

So yes. Festive dogs are now a thing.

There’s something so special about those first few weeks of school.

I remember it so clearly from when my daughter started last year. Suddenly those very first phonics books start coming home and, while it’s exciting, this whole new world of learning to read can feel a little daunting too.

That’s why I absolutely love these reading cushions. They give those first little books their own special place and help make reading together feel like something to look forward to.

Our personalised reading cushions are £16 including the cushion insert and have a lovely big pocket on the front for keeping books safe.

If rainbows aren’t their thing, that’s absolutely fine too. We can hand-design a completely different theme to make it perfect for them.

Their drawing. Their design. A keepsake you can actually keep.

If your child comes home from school or nursery with approximately 47 pieces of artwork a week, this one might be for you 😂

Our new children’s drawing design service turns their own artwork into a transfer that we can add to one of our products, creating something completely unique and a little more permanent than another piece of paper for the fridge.

It also makes such a lovely gift for grandparents, parents and family. Imagine their little drawing turned into a T-shirt, tote bag, cushion or another keepsake they can actually use and treasure.

And it really can start with something incredibly simple.

Supercat started life as a drawing on a plain white piece of paper. For the best results, we recommend:

• white paper
• a good, thick outline, ideally using a black felt-tip pen
• a clear photograph or scan of the finished drawing

But don’t worry if your masterpiece doesn’t quite fit those rules. Send it to us and we’ll assess it to see whether we can make it work.

Then comes the really fun bit…

The little artist can get involved in creating the finished product too. Supercat’s designer chose how she wanted her T-shirt laid out, where her artwork should sit and how she wanted the finished design to look.

So it isn’t just their drawing.

It’s their design too.

A brilliant way to preserve those little creations, reduce the mountain of school and nursery paperwork you feel far too guilty to throw away, and turn something they made into a proper keepsake.

Just a sneaky peek at something we’ve been playing with for Christmas 👀

As if it’s not bad enough that we’re already getting the Halloween stuff out, just WAIT until you see what we’ve been making for Christmas 😂

Can we just appreciate those foil names?! We’ve always printed our personalised names, and we absolutely still can, but I think the foil looks UNREAL.

We’ll have Christmas Eve certificates, Nice List certificates, Magical Notes, First Christmas certificates and options for older children, all in a whole range of designs.

We’ll be debuting the full collection at the Artisan Market next weekend, so you’ll get to see them in person first.

Sorry in advance to anyone who thinks August is too early for Christmas 😂

Halloween has officially started at rare makes.

Okay, we may have got a little overexcited and made the girly ones first… but can you blame us?
