Have you got this wonderful event saved in your diaries? It’s this Saturday evening.

What better thing can you do on the eve of St David’s Day than to listen to the combined voices of 3 Male Choirs singing together in harmony.

A varied programme of music sung by approx 100 voices.

FOR A FRIEND

2 years ago we took part in a project called 'Striking With Pride' a documentary that told the real story of the film 'Pride'. Where a group from London called LGSM raised money for South Wales Miners at Onllwyn in the Swansea Valley during the year long 84'85 miners strike

This song was arranged for us by Sam Thompson, the composer of the film. The song was written by Jimmy Sommerville in memory of his friend, Mark Ashton, who was instrumental in the support group and who sadly passed away at a very young age.

It is a beautiful song that can speak to us on so many different levels. Hope you enjoy.

We have just heard of the sad passing of Graham Davies. He was a large part of Beaufort Male Choir, serving as Deputy Musical Director during John Tunley's time and a large part of music in the town, particularly with his tenure as Musical Director of Ebbw Vale Male Choir and Ebbw Vale Ladies Choir. Graham was also Musical Director for Mynyddislwyn Male Choir.

Our thoughts are particularly with Graham's family at this time. I am sure they will find comfort in knowing how much the community loved and appreciated his service... we certainly did.

Thank you, Graham for your service and passion.

We had the pleasure of a visit from Sue Butler, wife of Eddie Butler. Sue came to give thanks for the choir’s participation at the memorial service 3 years ago. She also gave a presentation of Eddies poem ‘A Land Roughly the Size of Wales’ for a choir room and personal copies for choristers.
