The Barnes Choir gives you the opportunity to sing with a well-established choir with a broad repertoire of mainly classical music. We have three concerts a year, one as part of the Barnes Music Festival in Spring, a summer concert and a Christmas (sometimes pre-Christmas) concert. Smaller groups also take part in carol singing to raise funds for local charities and heritage events, such as the 50
0th Anniversary of Hampton Court. We sometimes perform in other countries, most recently Poland and France. We have also commissioned works from composers, including Roxanna Panufnik and Russell Hepplewhite. Next season, in July, we will join the Epsom Choral Society in a special concert at the Cadogan Hall, close to Sloane Square, whose centrepiece will be Walton's remarkable Belshazzar's Feast. Our Musical Director, Julian Collings, is currently Director of Music at St Cyprian's Church, Clarence Gate, Musical Director of the Epsom Choral Society and Teddington Choral Society as well as London chamber choirs Ad Libitum, and Arcubus. Social activities include a weekly Pub Night, a quiz night, summer party and post-Carol singing dinner.
