It's today! Studio is all set up for Haddington Art Weekend. I'm venue 12 on the Open Studio Trail. Loads of Artists at venues in Haddington and the surrounding area. Artists have been working hard hanging their work for you to see. Come and say hello!

Couple of weeks till Haddington Art Weekend, open studio trail. A lot of hard work has gone into the planning, by volunteers; preparing maps, organising venues, photoshoots and organising artists . I am lucky enough to be staying in my own studio, by the Smeaton Nursery and Garden Centre. Number 12 on the map. Artists are all getting prepared. A sunny day like today would be a cherry on the top!

Struggling to put a label on this wee guy. These are not real people but the stories are real. And there are a few labels I could put on this one. But for today, I'm just going to leave him staring out at the trees and the birds and try to remember that he's not real. Labels tomorrow.

I'm working on a series of images focussing on the challenges children and young adults, going through the care system, have to face, and the labels they have to wear(and bear). But there are 2 sides to every story. The labels have opposite words back and front, which you can turn. Some of the words are strangely similar. More gruesome labels on the way.....it won't be pretty! 😭

Up to my armpits in paint and more than a few things on the go. Which makes spilling paint water, transferring paint to stuff that's already finished and dropping a banana on a wet painting all the more annoying ( although the banana thing might be an improvement) Phone covered in paint but still didn't manage to take any worthwhile photos. Oh well, the studio has reached an all time temperature high of "cool" , so I'll take that as a win! 🤩
