Hi! I thought it was about time I introduce myself properly 👋
I’m Emma, I’m 32 and I started learning sax when I was 8 years old, so 24 years ago! 🤯 I’ve been playing and teaching professionally since I was 16.
I grew up in Southend-on-sea, Essex and moved to Leeds when I was 18 to study jazz at Leeds College of Music which I absolutely loved! Since then I’ve lived in lots of different places including London, Australia, Spain, and now I currently live in Durham with my husband ( Jacob Sludden ), our 5-month-old daughter Sophia, and our dog Patch 🐶
Some of my favourite moments of my career have been; filming for an episode of Made in Chelsea (we were the jazz band playing in a bar for Miles and Ruby’s date); performing at the Amazon Headquarters in London for their Christmas party; performing at the birthday party of one of the most influential authors from my childhood (though I signed an NDA so can’t say who haha); playing a late late slot following Duran Duran 🤯; getting flown out to the Maldives to play at a resort for three weeks over Christmas and New Years; performing for the Premier League at one of their summer parties; playing at the NEC Birmingham for Next; and playing for sooo many happy couples on their wedding days!
I’m so lucky to be able to call this my job and I’m so grateful to every one of you who has ever booked me! I’ve met some brilliant friends through this work ✨

When I’m not performing or teaching, you’ll find me cuddling Sophia/cuddling Patch/watching a Disney film/out for a walk/playing the piano/on the phone to my mum 💕
