My Northumbrian Throne embroidery that sits in the grounds at Bamburgh Castle. Taken from the stone carving based on a fragment of stone discovered on site and Time Team recreated into the throne. This 7th C artwork was designed by a local sculpture who has taken local stone art samples from around the North East and created this. I have slightly changed elements to this so’s not to infringe copyright. Hand designed, hand drawn on linen and hand stitched using three early medieval stitches, stem, couch and split. Using wool spun for embroidery use.

Currently working on creating embroidery kits for this one, for all levels of skill, there won’t be many available so it will be first come first serve so please register your interest here by private message and watch this space… in the meantime, happy stitching ❤️
